1958 Pontiac Star Chief
Golden Jubilee edition.
One of only 1170 made 1958 Pontiac “Golden Jubilee” editions in a very good restorable condition. This was also the only year for this elegant body style.
A true California survivor that has not been restored or modified. The car has a solid and straight body that seems to have one old repaint, o major rust or significant damage.
A previous owner started to sand down the upper part of the body, ut never finished it and that's the way it has been sitting for the past 20 years.
The car appears to be complete. The 370 ci engine starts up nice and sounds good with no smoke or leaks.
The Pontiac has power steering and power brakes. I have driven the car slowly down the street as it does not have any brakes.
It shifts the gears smoothly. The interior is there, ut as everything else on the car, t needs to be restored. The wiring system seems intact, nd even the dome lights, nd dash lights work.
The chrome is good, nd not damaged. There seems to be very little rust. The body, runk and floorpans are very solid with the exception of some very minor rust on the passenger floor pan.
All body mounts are in great condition with no rust. There is some dents above the back window on the rear part of the roof. I can not open the rear driver side door, or do I have the original keys for the Pontiac.
I have a clear CA title in my name.
To celebrate General Motors' 50th anniversary this season, special "Golden Jubilee" trim and paint finish package was announced in November. The color was coded "Z" with DuPont stock number 2865L. Special "Golden Jubilee" ornamentation was also applied to the cars. The Jubilee car was made in 1170 units and all of them was Star Chief 4dr sedans. All where painted in different style of Jubilee Gold and white.
The car is also for sale locally, nd I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Please call me if you want more pictures, video of the engine running or want to come and inspect it.
