Description

I hate to part with this car. I have put SO much time and money into it. BUT, I have lost interest in it. It has now sat for 6 years, and my wife says it has to go. 86 Pontiac Fiero project car. I drove the car with a 350 Chevy V8 installed for one summer with the stock 5 speed standard transmission until the transmission began to howl. I needed more power! There is no standard transmission that would fit and fit my budget, so I went with a Cadilliac automatic. The 4T80e is very strong, designed to take the punishment of the northstar V8 and heavy Caddy cars. Cadilliac CV shafts were shortened and used with JA8 Celebrity knuckles. The brakes use Chrysler Lebanon rotors, Camaro front calipers, and Cadillac Seville rear calipers for the emergency brake. The 350 was ok, but I wanted more. I built a 420 CI engine based on a 400 block. A Scat balanced rotating assembly was chosen, and the block was bored .030 I think. the stroke is 3.875. It came out to 420 CI. A fairly wild hyd. roller cam was used. a World Products polished aluminum intake was drilled for 8 nitrous injectors, presently 100 hp shot. I never got to use it. Carburetor is a Mighty Demon 650 cfm. An electric water pump on the engine was used. Later, I installed another remote water pump up front by the custom aluminum radiator because of an overheating problem. I never resolved the overheating problem. I tried many bleeding tricks to get the air ou, the before mentioned remote water pump, and even Evans NPG waterless coolant, but could not figure out why it overheated. I may have overlooked something, but I lost interest in the car and went on to build several others. All interior is new. Seats are nice racing seats, new carpet, new headliner, etc. Gauges are custom digital. Car has custom built headers, which flow into a duel in, duel out Flowmaster muffler, or threw electric cutouts, which can be seen in one out the pictures in the back. All body panels were removed and painted with a vibrant gold color with pearl ice gold metal flake. Front tires are Goodyear Eagle LS P205 55 R16. The rear are Hoosier P245 45 ZR16 Cheater slicks with two grooves. I would consider lowering the price if you do not want the engine, or engine/transmission, if you wanted to put in a milder V8 or a stock Fiero engine. I know of a V6 doner car in my area for only $500. There is no battery in the car presently. It is sold as is. CAR DOES NOT RUN RIGHT NOW, AND WILL HAVE TO BE TOWED. I have over $15,000 invested, and over 1000 man hours in this car.
