Reducing more of my collection.
1960 Pontiac Catalina station wagon. I have owned the car for many years.
Rust free ( I know this because the car spent the last 3 years being completely stripped apart with new metal put in where needed, skim coated, painted etc. ). New interior, new brakes, new tires, new Cragar rims, re-chromed front and rear bumpers, many NOS parts, all stainless and chrome polished and either replacedwith NOS or reproduction parts or repaired. Car redone in it's original factory paint color of Coronado Red Poly.
Starts right up, runs and drives just fine. We have only driven it around town for cruise ins and Sunday drives and put maybe 1000 miles on it since it has been put back together, so I have no idea how it is on the highways since we have not taken it out on one. I would ship it anywhere and not expect to drive it across country ( although you wouldn't logically do that with any car unless it was under warranty )
The car has it's original drivetrain, 389 v8, 2bbl, ps, pb.
There are a few odds and ends I still have to do. Ihave a new speedometer cable that I will be installing ( the current one squeaks ), and I am installing a different brand of brake shoes since I do not like the noise from the current brand of shoes. I have two Catalina emblems that will be going back on this weekend ( good used and polished ). The engine compartment has been cleaned, de rusted if needed, sanded and primed but I have not progressed beyond that since I wasn't sure if I wanted to paint it original, or do chrome and custom touches so as it is in the photos is how it will be for now unless we keep the car. The only leak on the car is from the rear end, and I think it is because synthetic fluid was installed after it was cleaned, flushed and refilled. Synthetic oils tend to seep more than regular oils. The car has a Pertronix electronic ignition hidden under the distributor cap, it has been tuned up and adjusted and all the fluids are flushed and changed yearly whether or not the car is driven.
I do not yet have reproduction door sill plates for the car, however I am still trying to source them. If I get them, they will be installed.
I did not redo the car as a show car, but as a very very nice driver that I could actually get in, drive and use for fu, however it gets crowdswherever it goes.
Since this is a 56 year old used car, it is sold as is, with no warranties what so ever.
