If you have any questions give me a call at 785-550-2707. Building cars is a hobby of mine. and I only do one car at a time. This 1968 Firebird began as a rust free California car. Over the last two years a complete frame off. nut and bolt restoration was performed. Everything about this build is top shelf. Everything on this car turned out amazing. and it's as close to perfect as you can find anywhere. I have put about 1200 miles on the car since the build was complete. mainly to local car shows and cruise ins. Engine: The block is a Pontiac 400 ci block that was fitted with a 461 forged stroker kit. The block was completely gone through and bored . 030 over. It has rebuilt 6X heads. a Hurricane Intake. a Custom Ground Camshaft (duration 220/232. lift . 485/. 510. lobe sep. 110). MSD billet distributor. MSD Wires. MSD 6AL Ignition box and coil. SFI Balancer. 4-Core aluminum radiator. 2 SPAL electric fans with automatic thermostat switch (never goes above 180 degrees). If you know Pontiac engines then you know that this combination produces monstrous torque. It is one of the most powerful cars I have built and pulls hard in every gear. Exhaust: It has Hooker Super Comp headers that have been jet coated. a X-pipe midsection. Flowmaster mufflers and chrome tips. The sound at idle all the way to full throttle is top notch. Transmission: Tremec TKO 5 speed. Centerforce dual friction clutch. Billet Steel Flywheel. and a custom billet short throw shifter that allows factory shifter location and finally topped off with a Hurst shifter stick and shift knob. If you have ever driven a car with a Tremec then you know that this is the best manual transmission you can buy. The low first gear and the high 5th gear make this trans the very best combination possible. Paired with the 3. 42 rearend ring and pinion the overall gearing is perfect. Rear differential: Completely rebuilt posi-trac rear diff stuffed with 3. 42 gears. 28 spline axles with larger ½" wheel studs and capped off with an aluminum diff cover. This rear diff was built to handle the torque from the strong Pontiac stroker engine. Brakes: Willwood complete power front and rear four piston disk brakes. complete emergency brake setup and all new stainless brake lines. This setup works flawlessly and is just right for this car. Wheels & Tires: The car is sitting on a set of Boss 338 18x8 front and 18x9. 5 rear wheels that are gunmetal grey with fully polished outer rims. For tires it is wearing Nitto 555 225/40/18 up front and 275/40/18 on the rear. They fit the car nicely and give the car an amazing stance and the handling characteristics are amazing. Suspension: This Firebird has a complete Global West front and rear suspension package that includes beefy sway bars. upper and lower tubular A-arms. front and rear lowering springs and subframe connectors. It has a close ratio GM steering box. and was professionally aligned. The performance and stance of this setup is nothing short of perfect!Exterior: The body was completely stripped. primed. sealed and painted Solar Red with all PPG base/clear paint products. Everything is new or original and like new. Reassembly included all new mirrors. emblems. chrome. stainless. moldings. rubber seals. weather stripping. headlights. taillights. lenses. gas tank. sending unit. bumpers. brackets. bushings. mounts and hardware. The body is as straight as an arrow and all the body lines and gaps are outstanding. The paint is completely fresh and there is no orange peal on this car anywhere. After it was painted it was meticulously color sanded with 1500. 2000 and 2500 grit paper and then buffed with three stages of cutting/polishing compound. The paint on this car is a 10 out of 10. absolutely stunning!Interior: Everything was removed during the build and Dynamat was installed throughout the body and doors. It was reassembled with ProCar front seats. and then the rear seat was recovered with matching ProCar fabric. It has factory appearing three point shoulder harness seat belts that bring it to modern seatbelt safety standards. It also has Vintage Air Conditioning that blows ice cold. The car had air conditioning from the factory so the Vintage Air kit works with the original dash controls and vent locations. The reassembly also included new carpet. console. dashpad. headliner. visors. package tray. rebuilt door panels and many new dash components. For a sound system I installed a RetroSound head unit (dash has never been cut). JL Audio 6. 5" front speakers and JL Audio 6x9 rear speakers. It gives the car a nice clean factory look. but has all the modern advantages and sounds amazing!This Firebird turned out amazing and can hang with anything on the street today. The power from this monster 461 is quite impressive. It has a mean sound and can destroy the tires through first and second gear leaving dual black marks as straight as an arrow. At the same time it is very mild mannered while cruising down the highway with the air conditioning and stereo blasting. You will not be disappointed with this car. In the pictures you can see that I have created a 3-ring binder that includes the original build sheet along with all the receipts documenting the build. I also have the matching front black/yellow license plate (it has been restored to perfect condition along with the rear) and correct bracket if you are interested in mounting the front plate and registering the car in California.
