Description

Up for auction is a 1977 black and gold Hurst t-top Pontiac Trans Am with the deluxe cloth seats. I purchased this car back in 2004. Since then I have begun restoration work but the Trans Am now sits as I do not have the time to continue working on it. This Trans Am is a project car. The car will start and move but needs an exhaust brake work tires to be put back together and is not road-worthy at the moment. This is a solid example of a car that is very desirable and becoming hard to find. This Trans Am came with factory air-conditioning (does not work) manual windows and locks power brakes and steering. In addition to the Trans Am itself included in the auction are several new parts including:New HeadlinerNew CarpetNew T-Top sealsNew EmblemsNew Steering WheelNew door window sealsI purchased this Trans Am in Ohio back in 2004. Since the car has t-tops some of the front floor area was rusted. That rust has been repaired to include installing a partial floor pan in the drivers side area. The quarter panels are solid the doors are solid the fenders are solid. The Trans Am has new wheel 'spats' in front of all 4 wheels. A new windshield was also installed and the brakes were replaced. The only rust I am aware of is a small area inside the drivers side rear wheel well and maybe a little around the battery area. The car comes with an extra set of front seats. The engine in the car is not the original engine. But the original engine comes with the car. The previous owner simply told me the engine 'was blown'. Either way the engine comes with the car. Make no mistake about it this Trans Am needs to be restored. I don't need to explain the significance of these cars to those out there that want one.During the time-frame when I worked on the Trans Am it was painted its original black. There are some chips / scratches / bubbles in the paint and if it was me I would re-paint the car. The data plate does not specify Y82 on it. I have a clear title and will answer any questions asked of me. In a nutshell these cars are now close to 40 years old but look great from any angle. Pick yourself up this project Trans Am put some TLC in it and have some fun. I will upload additional pictures in the coming days.
