Do you love original cars, ime capsules from another era? This 1956 Pontiac looks like it’s just rolled out of the sixties. It’s been pampered since new and lived an easy life in dry Central California away from the rust. The original paint is in good shape with just a few nicks and blemishes, ostly found in the darker green on the hood and some missing at the cowl. It looks like the paint of the sixties did, hiny but not the high gloss of modern paint. The chrome is in good shape. Overall, his Pontiac does not look showroom new, ut has an original patina that cannot be replicatedThe interior is complete and original. There is a bit of fraying in the lower back of the driver’s seat and a tear on the drivers side bottom, dditionally some wear can be seen in the carpet. All gauges and lights work as well as the original tube radio, nfortunately the clock is not working. The car runs and drives smoothly. The hydramatic transmission shifts smoothly. It does have a few areas that will need attention. The gear indicator is a little loose, o it can be rotated to the left if the shift lever is pushed beyond reverse. The brake pedal is spongy, ost likely a good bleeding and adjustment will fix this. The vacuum windshield wipers don’t work well, ut the car is never driven in the rain. The engine runs a bit rough and hesitates when cold, robably about time for the carburetor to get some attention. The phrase it’s only original once really applies here.If you like originality it’s hard to do better with this car in terms of both completeness and condition, specially with the interior, he chrome and bright pieces, nd the lighter green paint on the exterior.
