Description

Here's something tasty for You to chew on. 1965 Pontiac. Barn find-old school build (1990's?) that was never finished. YY code 455 (485428 casting), urbo 350, ord 9 inch with 3.50 gears with a spool (I believe). #62 heads (H078 & J258 date codes). Art Morrison ladder bar-coil over-panhard bar suspension & back half kit. Moser custom alloy axles. Weld Racing wheels, ickey Thompson N-50-15 tires (weather cracked). Front disc brakes (manual), nd manual steering. It needs electrical work, s only a couple lights work. Needs a windshield, ipers, xhaust (has open headers), tc for the road. Glass front bumper and hood (lightweight lift-off). Body sits slightly lower on the frame due to thinner than stock solid body mounts. I have not heard it run, or tried to start it, ut was told by the previous owner he had it running briefly and was able to move it around the yard some, ut it needs the carbs cleaned, tc, s it was stalling and intermittently running rough. He said the engine sounded good, idn't smoke, nd had good oil pressure (60 psi), ut I make no promises as far as the engine goes. Selling "as is", ith no guarantees. Engine supposedly has all kinds of high dollar internals, ut I don't know, s I don't have receipts or paperwork. The car never made it to the road (or track), o hard to say how it would have (or will) perform. Looks like they started out with a real decent, traight, nd pretty solid car for the build. Only real body work (for rust repair) that I see, s it's had lower patch panels in the rear quarters, nd some work around the rear wheel openings (decent quality work, hat doesn't show on the outside, nd You have to look close for it on the inside). The driver's toe board needs finishing. Has nice sheet metal flooring and bracing. The welding on the cage and chassis is not the best I've ever seen (not the worst either - welds are decent, ust not as "pretty" as they could be). The only thing I see that I really don't care for, s the front of the frame horns have had plates welded on to them for the bumper brackets, nd the right front frame horn has been notched for the welded on bracket. Had to be a better solution that that, ut it is what it is. Horns look straight, ith no issues or signs of previous straightening. The original frame (from rear lower control arm attaching points forward) is solid and clean, s is the rockers, oof, ecklid (bracing removed), oors (no glass or regulators), enders, tc. It's a really sharp car. The paint is nice, ith a couple chips, nd a flaw here and there. As far as the color, ll I can think of that's close to this color is Chevrolet "Placer Gold" (which I personally have always liked). Comes with the windshield and back window mouldings, oor handles, tc, ut I would go with new handles, ocks, tc to match the look of the car. Also comes with some other parts, ncluding 2 back windows & M/T valve covers. Being a Baltimore built car, t doesn't have acc codes listed on the cowl tag. Assume this is a Lemans, ut it could be a GTO. I don't know, ut PHS will tell You. No title. Vermont does not title cars this old. I could register it here in Vermont for You first, ut You must pay for it ($70 plus 6% tax on the value the state puts on it - they use NADA low or average book unless it's appraised by a dealer first). This would (should) help You get a title in your state, nless they are real strict about having a previous title for out of state vehicles. As I understand it, eing built the second week of December 1964, he plants were not yet using Rosette rivets on the VIN tags for the 1965 model year, nd Baltimore started using the Rosettes even later than the other plants. To me, he tags both look factory and untouched. VIN sequence # and build date look to be about right compared to other cars built around that time. I will work with your shipper (buyer responsible for all costs), ut remember that as of right now, his is a "non-op" which many basic carriers don't like to deal with. No deposits. Payment in full, ash or US bank cashier's check (will not ship until check is cleared). Any questions, ust email. Thank You.

On Nov-20-15 at 18:49:00 PST, eller added the following information:

I don't have the windshield, ust the mouldings (wording is a bit confusing). Weld wheels are dated 1986. The nib center caps are included, long with some other parts in the trunk. Decklid bracing has been removed. Headliner bows are present. Front fenders look to have been NOS when installed (or super nice used). The Doug Nash intake looks to be in excellent condition. I have a lot more pics I would upload, ut 25 is all I can post here. Thank You. Dave
