Description

The car for sale here is a 1984 Porsche 911 with the factory M491 Turbo-Look package. This car has been same family owned for the past 16+ years and has had regular maintenance performed on the car including a full engine rebuild in 2007 with approximately 10,000 miles put on the rebuilt engine. The engine has been checked out on a chassis dyno and runs strong at 188 whp/181 ft lbs wheel torque. This car is not in concours-quality condition but is a good driver quality car and with some TLC will make an excellent example of a rare factory package car. This car is 1 of 421 produced with the M491 package in 1984 and 1 of 688 coupes produced from 1984-1989. If you are looking for a collectible air-cooled 911, hat is on the rise in value, he M491 package cars are a great start with the reliable and durable 3.2 liter flat six engine.
The M491 Factory Turbo-Look package included the following: - Turbo front and rear fenders - Turbo "Whale Tail" rear spoiler - Turbo wrap-around front spoiler - Turbo suspension - Turbo cross-drilled brake rotors and 4 piston calipers front and rear - Turbo wheels and tires (increased width and improved stance from a regular Carrera)
This car has been modified with Bilstein coil overs installed by a professional shop, S door panels to make more space in the interior and provide a "simpler" look, factory short shift kit, Steve Wong ECU chip (improves drive-ability) and a Bursch cat-back exhaust. In October 2015 the car had brand-new tires installed all around, eceived new rear fender stone guards and was given a full tune up including oil/filter change, park plugs, ew ignition cap/rotor, park plug wires, uel filter, ew battery, ew transmission fluid and engine belts.
This is a rust-free car, ell-maintained and always garaged and covered and rarely drive in rain, nd never with salt on the road. Lots of records for any shop work or parts installed on the car. The car handles and drives as it should. I would not be afraid to drive it anywhere. Extremely straight body Interior is in very good condition; no cracks on dash and headliner is in excellent condition.
Negatives to the car include a small engine leak coming from the valve cover, typical problem with these cars. The car was used for high performance drivers education events (DEs) with Porsche Club of America on a local track that caused some paint chip issues on the front bumper, ood, nd lower rockers. To bring the car back to excellent condition these will need to be repainted and whoever buys this car should feel confident that any money spent on paint work will be seen in full in the value of the car down the road. The only reason this work has not been performed prior to listing the car for sale, s to let the buyer feel confident that any paintwork completed on the car is done to theirstandards.
I get lots of compliments on the looks and condition of the car. I will be glad to provide scans of the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and any records upon request. If you have further questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
Items included but not in pictures: spare set of factory brake rotors, river's floor mat, actory door panels, actory tool kit, actory muffler and factory spare tire.

After reviewing the Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche tonight, lease also note that the seats are Factory Sport seats. After reviewing service records I'd like to note that both axles were rebuilt using brand new GKN joints and boots with Swepco grease approximately 2 years ago. The clutch was also replaced in early 2007 prior to the engine rebuild.
