Description

1988 Porsche 924 in need of a valve job.
I bought the vehicle in 2009 from an estate. When I bought it the odometer showed 31000 miles. I only had it for a short time when the odometer broke (common in these vehicles) and now shows 31887 miles. I never drove it much (once a week or so in nice weather) If the odometer worked it would still be around 36 or 37 thousand....it was driven infrequently. It is kept inside.
Not knowing the history of the car I recently replaced the timing belt about a year ago myself. I drove it about a year when the water pump went up. When I replaced the water pump I did not tension the timing belt correctly and when I started the car the damage occurred. It does not have compression in two cylinders. I have not pulled the head.
It is a 5 speed and the clutch is fine although I did replace the clutch master cylinder and slave. I also replaced the speed/reference sensor. It is an air conditioned car although the AC blows hot air. I don't know if it needs a charge or something else I just never messed with it. The interior is in great shape other than cracks on the dash which is also common for these vehicles. The seats are in great shape....they were covered when I bought the car with an aftermarket cover so I left them covered.
Other what I consider minor issues are:
passenger power window doesn't work (unk if switch or motor)
hatch doesn't release (key and release activates but wont unlatch
wipers sometimes wont turn off
exhaust rattles
The body is in good shape....a few road dings but no rust or major dents. The previous owner had the hood and front fenders painted they said due to stone chips. I could find no evidence of any previous accidents through carfax or NIB.
