Description

1977 911 S. This is a very straight, rust free, accident free, matching numbers car. Car was running and driving until engine issue. Body/Interior: Panel gaps are straight, floors in great shape and show no signs of rust, rot or accidents. The car has an older repaint in red, over the original metallic brown. The paint is faded and not in great shape. Passenger rocker panel has one small rust spot, just before the rocker/quarter panel seam on top. It is about 1.25" across, and looks like it started from the mounting hole for the plastic rocker trim. The wheel arches have what looks to be factory trim which is in good shape. The dash is decent, with a small crack in the center/top. Factory seats were replaced by previous owner with Corbeau fixed-back seats. I do not have the original seats. Rear seat is still installed, along with all factory interior trim, minus driver and passenger floor carpet. It has an older CD player, not factory radio, and the rear deck lid has 6x9 speakers. Driveline: 2.7 motor needs to have a piston/jug on one cylinder minimum, but one might as well rebuild it. The motor was running fine when I noticed oil smoke. Subsequent investigation by a reputable Porsche shop in CT showed that one cylinder most likely developed a vacuum leak, went lean, and this burnt the piston. Compression test on other 5 cylinders showed excellent compression. The motor has been removed and professionally disassembled down to the case. The case has not been split, so crank, connecting rods etc. are still installed. Everything else has been labeled and removed. This car has the factory, "7R" magnesium engine case and the head studs were inspected and were in good shape. The engine has the updated Carerra chain tensioner. Heater hoses were recently replaced. Wheels/Suspension: Car is currently on 15" Cookie Cutter wheels that have been bead blasted to bare aluminum for repaint. They have not been painted yet. Tires are junk, and only for rolling around. Brand new front brake rotors and recent front flex lines. Factory 5 speed transmission shifted well when driving. The car is not perfect, obviously, but it is a solid, straight and honest car worthy of a motor rebuild and then drive, or dig in and do a repaint or restoration. I was driving the car quite often until the engine issue, so I know it drives nicely. Connecticut does not issue titles for cars this old, car is sold with Bill of Sale only.
