Description

This car could be considered a "barn find" or "ran when parked" but probably best a project car.
I am listing this 911S for a friend. The car was parked about 15 years ago in a barn on his property when business interests became a primary focus in his life.
This car looks to be a highly optioned 911S. It has a sunroof, power windows and locks, leather interior as well as A/C. It does have an after market radio.
The leather interior looks great. There is a little wear on the outside beads of the front seats. The carpets are in terrific shape. The same goes for the dash and top pad. Even the pointers on the instruments look bright with little or no fading. The headliner and sunvisors are showing their age but are intact. The rear panel below the back glass has what appear to be factory speakers and is in great condition.
Sadly I believe the owner never thought the car would sit so long in an inactive state.
Unfortunately proper precautions were not taken to accommodate such a long time in storage.
The car was removed from storage earlier this month to find numerous issues.
The brakes will need a thorough inspection and servicing because the calipers are sticking to the rusty rotors. Fuel was left in the fuel tank and has gone bad. The battery has been dead for years and has been removed. A new battery is included. The fuel pump relay has been removed to
prevent any further contamination of the fuel system. The battery has not been installed but the engine as been rotated somewhat by hand. The paint is showing delamination in the form of bubbling possibly due to the long term covered storage in the non humidity controlled barn. The car was repainted it's original color some 30 years ago following some accident damage requiring a new left front fender as well as some other body components. At that time steel SC flares were installed to accommodate the 16 inch Fuchs that are on the car. The car wears new appearing but quite old Pirelli P7 tires period correct for the era. Although they look great they should be replaced for safety's sake. This year model 911S did not have a right side outside mirror. At the time of the repaint a new Porsche factory right mirror was installed.
All of the turn signal assemblies are in very good condition..The rear reflector is also in very nice condition. The rear bumper guards, bumper bellows, black rocker and bumper trim is in very good condition.
The undercarriage shows almost no rust with the exception of the brake calipers.
The car is showing 91558 miles. The engine had some major repairs done by a local
Porsche specialist in the 90's. The car had limited use after the work was performed but the engine and drive train's present condition is unknown.
In summary, I believe this car would make a great rolling restoration after the mechanical issues are attended to. Even with the paint flaws the car looks very good. All of the glass, moldings, lamps and rubber trim look very good. The seats, interior door panels and rear panels, dash and carpets look great for the age of the car. The undercarriage, floor pans (including the trunk) suspension and suspension pick up points all look to be in solid condition.
