1972 Porsche’s 914 / 4 - 1.7, matching numbers, original engine and believed to be original 62,000 miles. Included with the sale is the 1972 Owner’s Manual and a (copy) of the Porsche COA. -VIN# 4722904683 -Karmann Body# 4539562 -Engine# EA023811 -Bahia Red (Bahiarot), L30E -701 Leatherette Basketweave Has Optional Luggage rack, front & rear chrome bumpers, fog lights and 4-tip Monza Exhaust system which sounds awesome! Car has an up-graded side-shift transmission which shifts smooth. Comes with dual carbs not currently installed on the vehicle. Mechanically sound, starts-up & drives great. All electrical works. Four original wheels finished in Gunmetal grey with new tires. Many new mechanical parts. New interior components. Seats are finished to reflect the original 701 Basket weave. Everything works including the radio. Usual cracks that are found in the dash pad. I do not know a lot about the cars history. Only that the car is from a dry state so is solid, minimal corrosion in hellhole area, nothing structural, no other rust issues found on the car. Great gaps all-around on the cars body panels. No Accidents/Body Damage. The car is not perfect, but a great example of this fast appreciating classic Porsche. The paint is starting to look a little tired, and could do with a respray if you wanted to fully restore the vehicle, or enjoy and drive as-is. Photos show carpet missing in trunk and spare wheel area, I do have those parts, just trying to show how solid the car is underneath. Happy to take Photos of any areas you would like to see in detail. Many miscellaneous interior, exterior and mechanical parts included with the sale I can assist with shipping the vehicle, but buyer needs to arrange pick-up and delivery. Contact me for buy-it-now-price. Any questions feel free to ask. ThanksMike. |
- - Update for those who have asked questions or require clarity on a few items:
Car has a Clean Michigan title in the former owner’s name, and signed by the former owner ready for transfer to the winning eBay bidder.
Not sure but it looks like the car has had one respray in the original color BahiaRed.
Only parts that I know are missing is the spare wheel (only 4 wheels) and the interior dome light.
Only parts that I know are not currently connected, so not working is the speedo cable and the parking brake/hand brake.
Hell hole has rust as mentioned, but not structural as far as I can tell. However I am no expert. Hard to take a photo of but will try for those who are interested.
Vehicle comes with many used parts. Mechanical, Interior, Exterior, but too many parts to list individually, and to be honest I am not sure what everything is. Again, I could take a photo for anyone who is interested in seeing it all.
The Porsche COA I have is a copy of the Original. I do not have the Original document. Numbers all match.
No other documents/history with the car, but does come with lots of paperwork relating to parts purchased and communications with forums etc.
Thank you all for your interest in the vehicle.
Please contact me with any other questions. I am trying to describe the vehicle as best I can.
My knowledge of these Porsches is limited and usually work with VW’s. I want the winning bidder to be happy with the purchase.
Car will be sold “as is” with a bill of sale included.
