Description

1989 marked the last of an era, dominated by Porsche's 3.3 liter air cooled turbo...Production of which ran from 1976 through 1988 with a 4-speed transmission. 1989, the last year of production, due to supply limitations from Getrag, they installed the G-50, 5-speed transmission. Only 600 US spec turbo cabriolets came to the US...
This one, built November,1988, was optioned with M-070 Tonneau cover (black), M-220 Locking Differential, M-243 Short gear shift, M-391 Stone guards not installed, M-494 two rear speakers, M-494 Amplifier system, M-513 Lumbar seat right, M-586 Lumbar seat left, M-691 CD -1 stereo, M-935 Rear seats Raff leather, M-975 Velour carpet in Luggage compartment, M-980 Front seats, raff leather, CO-3 California emissions.
It has since had its radio upgraded to a modern CD. (The first generation factory CD's were Alpine-Porsche iterations...All broke and are not repairable) Otherwise it looks stock...One of the few that has not had its emissions parts stripped...IE: original muffler, heater boxes, turbo, cat converter, smog pump, diverter valves, and air rails, exactly like it was in 1989, a full US Emissions compliant car with California certification ( C0-3 )
The previous owner of 16 years, was very diligent in the care and maintenance of this car, and it shows. He continued an officious service schedule, even while he was living in Europe. Serviced by Porsche of Luxembourg when in Brussels, and Chelsea Carrera while in London.
Still wearing all of its original paint, with the tiny exception of the windshield cowl, which we just completed perfectly. The cosmetics are very high, with just a few touched up stone chips and a couple of touched up scratches, that you'll need to search for.
We recently got it out of storage, at 68,900 miles, and while adjusting the valves, noticed a broken head stud...So, we completed the necessary service work, rebuilding the engine with all Raceware studs, new Mahle pistons and cylinders, oil return tubes, air injection tubes, rebuilding the heads with new guides and valve job, reseal, A/C recharge, New Bridgestone RE-11's on all four, New struts front and rear, replacement of oil lines as needed, and a state inspection with emission certification.
All the books & service records, spare tire, jack, top boot (tonneau missing) and complete tool kit.
Freshly detailed, serviced, and ready to run with the big dogs!
