We at Flat 12 gallery have been connoisseurs of this front engine Porsche for over 20 years. We have been around many, even campaigned a few on the race track with the POC and PCA 928’s are an amazing car and an oddity that Porsche designed so many years ago. We have always felt that 928’s in general were always a car that would appreciate over the years and will continue to do so for years to come! Lets face it, there isn't a super car of this era that you could even touch for the same dollar amount at this point in time.

This 928 S Euro is equipped exactly like your dream build. Usually, we find one that is missing some of the key components like, its an auto or not an S or not a Euro or has a sunroof…. this car is all of the above!

It still has its phone dial wheels and appears to have originally been a cloth insert car with either the pinstripping or the porsche-porsche script. Take a look at this car and we think you will appreciate its value and performance and options. Being a Euro car, it also features the side marker lights and the much brighter and desirable, larger flip-up headlights, plus the four built-in Euro fog/driving lights.

The Ruby Red Metallic paint appears original and does have quite a few rock chips on its side mirrors and a few on the nose but the balance of the paint appears nice. The ruby red metallic color overall still shows well. The interior appears mostly original with the center insert of the seats and door panels inserts replaced in a slightly lighter leather than the factory. It appears the car originally may have had the desirable euro cloth inserts. The dash is nice with some separations happens above the instrumentation cluster on the dash pod. They look like they could easily be repaired if desired. The seats, remaining leather interior, carpets and door panels are in great shape. The interior of this car has held up amazingly well compared to many 928’s that we have seen and owned. The lights and gauges all appear to be in working order other then the odometer not currently working.

The car runs and shifts well, starts every time and doesn't require a trickle charger when setting for a few weeks. Since the transmission was rebuilt in '03, she shift extremely easy and smooth. We purchased this car in California and didn't receive all of its records or its books. We were told the timing belt service had been done and we do have records for some of its history from 1996-2009 showing regular maintenance, a transmission overhaul including new syncros in 2003, a 75,000 mile serve in 2005, 1998 60,000 mile service, and in 2009 a $2,160 service.

928 History

The 928 was originally designed because the 911 sales were declining and Porsche wanted to offer a sports car that cold be driven long distances with comfort and power with an emphasis on 50/50 weight distribution. Starting with the design of a front engine water cooled Porsche to address the shortcomings of the air cooled rear engine. The 928 was made partially from steel with aluminum doors, fenders and hood to keep the weight down. Ultimately the 928 sold side by side the 911.
