We have a great example of a driver quality 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet. Engine andbody numbers match the Original Porsche COA, which we have and goes with the car. Has the coveted G50 5 Speed Manual Transmission, wider Fuchs wheels with Toyo tires and great rubber remaining. In 1987 the Carrera got a new five speed gearbox. According to Porsche the Carrera had 231hp delivered at 5200rpm. This car drives, tracks, and stops straight and works through all 5 gears flawlessly. There is nothing wrong with this car as a Driver today, I just drove her 200 miles and she cruises at 70-80 miles per hour at 3,200ish in 5th gear. I would get in this car and drive it anywhere. Great automobile!
911 3.2 Carrera, reviving the Carrera name for the first time since 1977. This was the last iteration in the original 911 series, with all subsequent models featuring new body.
The Good:
Super clean car, gets compliments and stares everywhere it goes, NO BODY RUST, just surface on control arms ect…
Paint is 2011 repaint that is in very good condition, high end of driver quality car. Has a smallspot of overspray pebbly on hood, tried to capture in pictures….
New Transmission in and all repairs made in last 5 years (have receipts).
Newer Performance exhaust with stainless tailpipe
Newer tread on tires
All original glass
Power windows, locks, work well
All lights and signals work, has brand new Factory match AGM Battery!
No dash/door cracks
RS Style door panes with red door pulls and matching red seatbelts look really sharp on this car.
Dealer optioned OEM Porsche Whale Tail
The next owner:
Couple small rock chips (very few) and a little overspray pebbles on one small section of theHood
Separated seam in driver’s seat, and 1 inch cut in passenger seat.
Newer carpet kit in the car, but seems kind of cheaply made. Probably is close to original though
Power top servos do not work, top operates manually with ease, and has all the parts to convert to a manual top
Back window is a bit hazy and yellowed
Air conditioning is all there included but not hooked up and working.
Puffs a little blue smoke on start-up if she is cold like all era Porsche’s
I have not seen it much, but she can drip a few drops of oil when she sits for a long period. Not much for a typical Porsche.
