Description

Up for auction is a garage find project. This is a 1976 Porsche 911 that was converted back in the 90's to a widebody slantnose convertible. It runs and drives great. It looks like the interior and power train came from an 84-86 911 according to the serial numbers on the transmission and since its a 3. 2 that make sense. We don't know the previous history of the vehicle so please dont ask for maintenance records. The paint has a lot of lacquer check in it which would be common in a car that was converted in the 90's. This car was found in its current condition. the owner was in the middle of an interior swap. he purchased a complete carpet kit in black as pictured but the car has grey interior. The top has a hole in it where a nice little mouse took a scrap probably to use as a rug in his mouse house. It also needs a plastic back window. When we got the car the top was unbolted so we put a few bolts in to mount it to the car but it looks like most of the hardware is there to install it correctly. The dash and associated parts are in nice shape as is the door panels and seats. As you can tell by the age of the stereo system and equipment. this car has been hiding out for a long time. The wheels (see pictures) are factory 6 inch wheels. cut and a hoop welded to make a 2 piece wheel and a wide outer lip added which was also common in the 90's. we think they look better than the typical Gotti wheels that are common on slantnose cars of that era. The car runs and drives great but as stated it needs some interior work and a nice paint job would also make this thing pop. It has all the right stuff for a slantnose but needs a refreshment. We took a lot of pictures but if you have any questions please feel free to ask. The car is a clean title but is sold as is where-is. Inspections are welcome. If this is your first Porsche purchase. please do your homework before bidding. We part out a lot of vehicles but when cars like this are found. they should be preserved or restored. The id plate and vin stamp under the hood match the title as photo'd but there is no vin number on the windshield pillar. this may be an issue or not for exporters.
