This example of the 928 is a stunning presentation of a well-maintained. lovingly cared for. and carefully driven vehicle. and it is ready for its new home. DESCRIPTION I know that I always try to bring you the finest examples of specialty cars here on eBay. but this 928S4 is truly in a class all its own! With just 4 owners since new. the car is just about as nice an example as you can find. and is ready to continue its trending value increase for the next fortunate owners. The stunning Nougat Brown Metallic finish on the car is in exceptional condition. and shows only the lightest signs of use like miniscule stone chips. a few scuffs and scratches. and other blemishes. but no dents. large dings. chips. clear coat issues. or anything that detracts from the overall appearance of the car. The finish is glossy. slick. and wet-looking. and has a deep shine and luster that comes from years of indoor climate-controlled storage and hand-waxing. Side molding is in excellent condition. and shows no damaged spots. Black protectant between the backs of the doors and the rear wheels shows beautifully on both sides of the car. Window trim. rear spoiler. and front and rear wiper arms also show wonderfully. Passenger mirror looks very good. but driver side mirror does show some bug marks/stone chips on it. The power moonroof functions like it should. without any issues or problems. I have opened and closed it at least 50 times without incident. All of the exterior lights on the car function perfectly. and the headlamps go up and down with ease and complete synchronicity. The passenger side front marker lamp lens has a small chip in it. but is fully functional. All of the glass on the car is factory original. and is in exceptional condition with no fogging. haze. cracks. chips. or damage of any kind. The car rides on its original Porsche aluminum wheels which show to be about 98% mark and issue free. save for a miniscule light scuff or two. The rims are wrapped in like-new Continental SPORTCONTACT2 performance radials size P255/40ZR17 in back. and P225/45ZR17 in front. The tires exhibit normal. even wear. and show no signs of any issues or prior repairs. They have at least 80% of the useable tread life remaining as well. Overall. I would rate the exterior finish a solid 8. 00 out of 10. 00. and after you get the car home and fully detail it from stem to stern. I am certain that number will go up. Open the doors to this 928 and you are met by a luxurious Tobacco Leather interior that shows exceptionally well. and has the correct patina you would expect of a fine-grade leather. Seats are in good condition. with the driver side showing a tear and some medium wear on the left side bolster from getting in an out over the years. Passenger side shows very well. with only light markings. and the rear seats look extremely nice. probably due to the fact that not many folks would want to sit in them for very long! Center console in the back is in great condition. and operates as it should. as do the rear seat overhead visors. Front seat backs show light markings on them. and the rear right side seat has a light seam pull notated in the large photos below. All of the power functions on the seats work as they should as well. and are fully adjustable across a wide spectrum. Carpeting is in good condition. and shows only light wear and use. but no damage or staining. Both rear hatch release controls inside the car function perfectly. Center console lid is not damaged or broken. and works as intended. All of the factory switchgear and controls function as they should. and appear damage and issue free. All interior lights function as they should. including the glove box light and door courtesy lamps. Door panels. kick panels. rear panels. A and C pillar panels. headliner and trim panels are in very good condition. with no damage evident. and no sagging or looseness evident. The dash is in great condition. and shows only a few small. light cracks emanating from the defrost vent areas. the top of the driver pod. and the right side of the glove box opening. as detailed in the large photos below. They have been in this condition since 1997. and the prior owners never felt the need to address them. as they have not changed in size or number since then. All of the gauges in the dash are fully function and appear to be accurate. The factory radio has been replaced with a BLAUPUNKT RPD440 AM/FM/CD player which functions perfectly and sounds fantastic through the array of Blaupunkt speakers throughout the car interior. All of the speakers work as they should. and the sound is fantastic! The prior owner accidently cracked the tweeter cover on the driver side door. so it will need to be replaced when you get the car home. or you can remove the passenger door cover for a modern look. Either way. not an issue. Factory heating and air-conditioning systems function as they should. as do all of the vent adjustments and locations. The car has NO odors of any kind. and from what we can see. has never been smoked in. It has no smoke odor. no pet odor. no mildew odor. no odor of any kind except for the faint smell of rich leather. The rear hatch area of the car is clean. neat. and shows no damage or issues of any kind. The struts that hold the hatch open are the 2nd set. installed by a prior owner in the late 90’s. and are starting to lose strength. Sometimes they work perfectly. but sometimes they don’t. so they will warrant replacement soon. Opening the hood reveals a clean and neat engine bay that shows even nicer than you would expect. The car had undergone a series of major services at about 60. 00 miles. These were performed by the prior owner. who is the 2015 NATIONAL AVIATION TECHNICIAN OF THE YEAR and maintains a fleet of Jet Aircraft for one of the largest companies in the Northeast along with being a Porsche Fanatic. and card-carrying member of the Porsche Club of America. Engine services performed include: Timing belt replacement. water pump replacement. accessory belts changed and tensioned. new plugs and spark plug wires. distributors. rotors. coils. camshaft seals. crank seal. oil pump seals. flush and fill of fresh coolant. upper and lower radiator hoses. and the forward coolant reservoir hose. Handling is tight. smooth. and clean like a Porsche should be. and the car does not wander. pull. or exhibit any untoward handling characteristics at any speed. Ride is smooth yet firm. and the car is equally adept at being a long-distance cruiser or a curve-eating monster. Braking is smooth. firm. and spot-on. and the car scrubs off speed with ease without any pulling. excess fade. or modulation. I have personally driven the car about 80 miles. and find it to be an exceptional running. handling. and performing machine in all aspects. The undercarriage of the car is clean. and shows as you would expect a ridiculously low-mileage car of this vintage to be!
