Description

Relisting - Accepted two offers neither were able to come up with the funds. Also all information is up to date and accurate as much to my knowledge (and the help of eBay and local Porsche Experts) as possible.
Up for sale 1965 Porsche 356 SC (130618). One owner super find. I have personally had possession of this car for over 2 years leaving the title unsigned (included as well as a bill of sale). The car runs amazing with a smooth shifting transmission. It is no garage queen and has been driven almost daily over my ownership. Babied yet enjoyed.
This beauty comes with the original keys plus extras; a box of books (Owners manual, orkshop manuals, riginal brochures, ld Road and Track clippings. etc. etc.) and receipts dating back to original delivery. Also included is the original title and the a notebook including the original owners gas journal - date, ileage, allons and cost of gas.
The mileage is accurate as far as the gas journal shows.
I personally have not seen a single owner 356 up for sale in a very long time. I am not sure if this isn’t the only one that still exists.
The car was painted in the 70s and could use it again and there is some surface rust in small places (see pictures) as well as small sized rust spots. Though not bad especially if looking to restore.
The engine number is 608225 a 1962 1600 (Type 616/1 T6). The engine was replaced in 1972. Have receipt! In my original listing I put the car was modded for a "European Heater" this is incorrect. From what I have gathered from a few different Porsche guys is that the car is euro spec with a 'European Heater' and the 62 engine was setup to work with this option. (If you know more about this please email or call me I want to be as accurate as possible in my listing)
The floor pans and bottom of the car is quite clean of rust. The car was stored in a garage every night and lived its life on the road. The rust spots came from a opening on the side of the garage that allowed air to come in and expose the car to the sections you see. The battery tray is in quite good shape with one section to the drivers side affected by rust (see picture).
The interior is original the seats are in near perfect to great shape. The seat belts are still intact and work. All of the instruments work and look great! The only thing not original on the interior that I know of is the radio is an aftermarket cassette player. The carpet is original but worn, hough not bad. All glass looks to be original and windows function as they should. All exterior chrome looks great.
The car is not perfect but it’s not a bucket of rust either. It looks great yet you aren’t too afraid to drive it. I love the condition of the car and have many times thought of restoring the car but have felt it would lose that authentic special feel this car has (You will know what I mean when you drive it.). Though I have had some wild estimates of the value of a fully restored single owner 356 SC, do believe it would bring a pretty penny.
This car gets more attention than any car I own or have ever driven. Be prepared to be chased down just so people can talk to you about her.
If you require an inspection of the car I can recommend some places here locally. I have had a few tire kickers that have wasted my time and were unable to pay. Feel free to ask me any questions but if you are going to bid please be able to pay!
I am willing to take a buy it now offer with in the values Hagerty averages on their site. I also have the Porsche for sale locally and reserve the right to end this auction early if the car is sold.
