1967 Porsche 911 S Coupe

> Year: 1967 Make: Porsche Model: 911 S Coupe VIN: 306786S Engine: 2.0-liter 160 HP Odometer: 29,038 miles Color: Irish Green/Black Description:

The 911 can trace its roots back to sketches drawn by Ferdinand "Butzi" Porsche in 1959.The Porsche 911 was developed as a much more powerful, arger, ore comfortable replacement for the Porsche 356, the company's first model. The new car made its public debut at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show (German: Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung). The car was developed with proof-of-concept twin fan Type 745 engine, nd the car presented at the auto show had a non-operational mockup of the production single fan 901 engine, eceiving a working one in February 1964.

It originally was designated as the "Porsche 901" (901 being its internal project number). 82 cars were built as 901s. However, eugeot protested on the grounds that in France it had exclusive rights to car names formed by three numbers with a zero in the middle. So, instead of selling the new model with another name in France, orsche changed the name to 911. Internally, he cars' part numbers carried on the prefix 901 for years. Production began in September 1964, he first 911s reached the US in February 1965 with a price tag of $6,500.

The earliest edition of the 911 had a 130 metric horsepower (96 kW; 128 hp) Type 901/01 flat-6 engine, n the "boxer" configuration like the 356, ir-cooled and rear-mounted, isplaced 1991 cc compared with the 356's four-cylinder, 582 cc unit. The car had four seats although the rear seats were very small, hus the car is usually called a 2+2 rather than a four-seater (the 356 was also a 2+2). It was mated to a four or five-speed manual "Type 901" transmission. The styling was largely by Ferdinand "Butzi" Porsche, on of Ferdinand "Ferry" Porsche. Erwin Komenda, he leader of the Porsche car body construction department, as also involved in the design.

In 1966 Porsche introduced the more powerful 911S with Type 901/02 engine, he power raised to 160 PS (118 kW; 158 hp). Forged Magnesium alloy wheels from Fuchs, n a distinctive 5-leaf design, ere offered for the first time. In motor sport at the same time, he engine was developed into Type 901/20 installed in the mid-engined Porsche 904 and Porsche 906 with 210 PS (154 kW), s well as fuel injected Type 901/21 installed in 906 and 910 with 220 PS (160 kW).

Only 1,823 of these high-specification short wheelbase 911S's were produced in 1967.

All matching number 1967 911S finished in its original color combination Irish Green with a Black Leatherette interior with Certificate of Authenticity. It was purchased from the second owner and was taken out of long term storage. A complete restoration was done from 2010 to 2012. Original 2.0-liter motor, riginal 5-speed transmission, ive 6” x 15” Fuch wheel's and new interior. Excellent mechanical condition and ready to enjoy! Complete with tools, riginal books & records.
