In mid 1987 Rolls Royce introduced the 20,000 series, ith a major design update from the previous models. To distinguish these updated cars, he serial numbers jumped from 15,000 to 20,000 with this particular example being number 20,283! These 1987.5 until 1989 models are referred to simply as the desirable 20,000 series as a result. The model designation did not change - the models remained named the Silver Spirit and Silver Spur but the refinements and improvements included a redesign of dash with more modern instruments which improved the interior look quite considerably with the old rectangular trip computer box being replaced with better looking round gauges. The cars had an improved Bosch fuel injection system and a more robust cooling system and there were a number of design improvements to the brake system. There was also a new Japanese air conditioning system that replaced the old GM based system.
Always a non-smoking southern California car since new, t was sold to its first and only owner, southern California lawyer on 4/4/1987 and will be sold with all its original manuals. The car was reportedly special ordered with numerous no expense spared 'state of the art' upgrades; including a built in rear television set with a VHS tape recorder, ustom stereo system, ustom rear seat drink compartments, ood inlays etc; by a Saudi prince who paid for the car, ut never took delivery of it, rom 'Rusnak Rolls Royce' of Pasadena, A. The beautiful and original 'Acrylic White' factory color with original factory painted tan pin stripes and with a matching White Everflex roof color combination is quite rare and very striking with matching color combination Rolls Royce hubcaps and with a full tan Connolly leather interior with contrasting tan piping and matching carpets and trunk, ll of which is in virtually flawless condition throughout. Quite astonishing considering the cars miles! The paint is in very fine condition and all the chrome work including the front grille and bumpers is absolutely outstanding. The leather seats, ashboard and headliner show virtually no signs of any wear whatsoever. The car drives exactly like a well maintained and serviced Rolls Royce should and must be driven to be fully appreciated and seen to be believed! The engine is extremely strong with no oil leaks, he transmission is very smooth with Rolls Royce's legendary almost imperceptible shift and the engine temperature always remains cool.
