Description

What we have here is a SAAB c900 that needs someone to bring it back to its former glory. 1988 Turbo 900, utomatic, ith the factory-option Red Box to add 35 hp by juicing up the turbo.
Backstory on this car - I found it in a bad way, adly neglected, ines growing around it, nd about to be sent off to the scrap heap. According to the PO, ought new and owned for a long time by the wife of the SAAB dealership owner in York or thereabouts. He purchased it from her, or his girlfriend, ho drove it for a few years, nd it eventually became their third car. He gave it to his daughter when she turned 16, ho drove it for a year before deciding "she really needed a Mustang." It was then parked and rarely driven.I planned to make it my summer project, ut a Viggen dropped into my lap so my time and money will be going to that.
Lots of awesome features on it that make me think the origin story is true. As you can see from the pics, t has special order SAAB floormats, omo racing wheel designed for SAAB (first time I've seen one in person and I've been driving them for a long time), atching body kit (some call this the Carlsson kit, ut I disagree with that description for this vehicle), AAB foglights (these are pretty busted, nfortunately), he factory hitch which is pretty rare, PC Red Box, nd a sweet factory cassette holder that includes a Motley Crue tape. Clarion EQ is present, ut the tape deck is sadly gone. It COULD be parted out, ut I don't have the heart or time to do so. There is no rust on the panels or undercarriage as far as I can tell.
It is yard-driveable at the moment, nd I would put it on the road at speeds under 50 mph to drive it locally. A long distance haul would wisely require a tow. Brakes will need some work, ut not a lost cause and I don't think they will need a complete replacement. I lubed the cylinders with MMO, dded some 93 octane and Berryman B12, nd it is running very well. Honestly, t idles better than my '92 900. Oil change got the top end clatter down to a minimum, njectors are a little noisy but seem fine. Convertible top is working, hough it complains a bit. Typical dash cracks and peeling fascia trim that you'll find on the c900. Leather in surprisingly good shape. All lights and electrical components working, indows go up and down, nd heat blows nice and hot. AC has had the belt removed, ut who cares, t's a convertible. K & N air filter. Front two tires are Kumhos and have a lot of life in them, ack two will need replaced to be road worthy (though again, think it could be driven a short distance, 0 miles or so, t speeds under 45MPH).
If I were keeping it, 'd do the brake work, eplace the top, nd get it clear coated. Even with the automatic trans, t could be a very fast, un daily driver. I've owned a ton of 900s, nd this one was obviously someone's pride and joy at one point. Car is in York, nd I live in Harrisburg. I will need at least a day's notice to show it.Battery not included. I love SAABs and am happy to answer any questions about this car to the best of my abilities. I want you to be satisfied with your purchase.
Thanks for looking.
