I have owned this Sonett for about 3 years. I am parting with it because I have too many other projects. need the garage space and not enough time or energy to enjoy it. I believe that I am the third owner. Mechanically sound. always starts. shifts and runs well. Nice exhaust tone…a spirited driver. No oil leaks or drips or noticeable oil use. Tires look good with almost full tread and no signs of stress or sidewall cracking. but probably older tires. Brakes grab nicely and free-wheel and gear changing work well. Has electronic ignition and upgraded to Weber carb. Most important: All glass is clear with no delamination. cracks or chips. Nice original rear window. The body and interior are all original and show nicely and it is a fine unaltered great looking car. The paint is nice. particularly for a 45-year old car and has a lot of life left…shines and looks great with only a few nicks and touchups. The side rocker panels seem sound with no rust. The rear tire/battery compartment has no rust and battery tray was treated with Por15 as a preventive measure. Floors are sound and areas of rust at the driver and passenger floor pan/firewall corners were removed back to sound metal and professionally repaired with new welded steel. Headliner in good shape but there is some minor damage to small fabric side panel beneath rear window behind driver’s seat. Past maintenance receipts indicate that this car was well cared for most of its life with scrupulous attention to fixing minor problems and conducting scheduled maintenance. All instruments work except the odometer and I think one turn signal bulb is out. Gas gauge is also faulty but extra one provided. Current odometer is 86. 96 and is not functioning properly (speedometer works OK and there is an extra one with the car). Only a few hundred miles have been put on car in recent years but exact mileage unknown. While not perfect. this is a rare example of an original excellent running solid car that shows well. gets attention and is just fun to drive.
