Description

This 1968 Shelby convertible" tribute" has had a three year, full frame off restoration. Over 1200 hours of labor have been performed by a professional Mustang and Shelby restorer in the Houston area. THIS IS AN EXACT REPLICA. This restoration includes a NEW, not rebuilt, Boss 302 engine and 5 speed "T5" manual transmission from "Ford Racing", but still retains the original Shelby GT 350 stock look. All efforts were made to give this car the look of an original 1968 GT350 Shelby convertible. This includes the original "Lucas" fog lamps, original Shelby tachometer, clock, and speedometer, which were calibrated by the "Tach Man" in Ohio. The hood, rear deck, and all the panels Carroll Shelby designated to be fiberglass are new and in place. The interior and exterior are as they looked back in 1968, including the stock roll bar and ten spoke Shelby wheels. This car has an excellent base coat, clear coat finish in "zinc yellow" with" black stripes" which makes it stand out in a crowd. The black convertible top is also new. The finishing touch to this classic is the passenger side dash which is signed by Carroll Shelby just prior to his passing and also includes a certificate of authenticity. There are 3002 miles since the restoration. There are numerous pages of documentation and receipts. It drives great and looks great!
