Description

I am listing this very special find for a friend of mine and I will describe this as honest and best as I can. So if I have missed something, eft something out, r if your just curious about something about the car please ask and I'll find out and get the answer back to you. With that being said let's get on with the auction and the fun. This rare gem was sold new in Hendersonville,N.C. and has been one family owned it's entire life. The '51 Studebaker Champion was purchased new by the uncle and then later on in years was handed down to the nephew where he had driven it up to the last registered date of 1981. This Studebaker has been Garaged ALL of it's life as the condition of it today definitely shows this. It has had only one repaint that appears to have been done decades ago but is in pretty decent shape. There is only one word that comes to my mind about the condition of the body is "SOLID"! My friend that owns it, ook up the carpet, et the rear seats out, ashed the trunk and floor pans down, ictures were took, nd all items were reinstalled back to the way it was { please see the pictures of this } to show everyone how well the floor and trunk pans are. The Champion is all complete and all original right down to the "working and charging" 6 volt positive ground electrical system and is powered by the original 170ci flathead 6 cylinder engine that runs very smooth and is backed with a 3 speed "on the tree" Overdrive transmission. I did notice that the overdrive cable is stuck in the pulled out position and probably needs to be lubed to get it back to working. The Radiator does leak and will need repairs or replacement but there is new anti-freeze in it. The Studebaker will need the brakes redone although they do work well enough to stop but the master cylinder leaks downs after a couple of weeks and needs to be refilled with fluid. The interior is in pretty decent condition and it is ALL complete right down to the arm rests and the little rollers on the window handles NOTHING missing that I saw. All the gauges work with the exception of the temp for it needs a sending unit i think. Underneath the Studebaker looked really good with no rust outs and the gas tank looked great. The original wheels are very good but the tires will need to be replaced and the former owner said that he would try to find the original hubcaps and if he does so, e will forward them to the new owner. This Studebaker runs well and lot drives but will have to be hauled to it's new home. I have been a car nut for over 35 years and I haven't seen a better original "survivor" '51 Studebaker Champion {that hasn't been restored} than this one. Reserve is set low so bid to win. Please look at all the pictures and ask all questions and I'll get back to you. It is the buyers responsibility to make all shipping arrangements although I am willing to work with your shipper for vehicle pickup. All items are sold as is, here is. Cash payment in hand, n person is expected 7 days after auction closes. Cash payment and pickup of vehicle is expected within 7 days of auction close. Please look at my feedback and bid with confidence, ood luck and happy bidding, od Bless and thanks.
