Description

You will be bidding on original condition 1963 Studebaker Lark Custom 2-door sedan with 170 ci 6 cylinder OHV and manual "3 on the tree" transmission w/o overdrive. It has a 3:73 rear end. It drives well appears peppy. It drove along to Springfield area and back on I-44 without problems. I had taken it over to our club's Studebaker repair shop. It was driven in 65-72 mph range; no overheating; gauges all just normal. It showsjust under 80400 miles which would seem original but no verification of that. There are a few papers in vanity when it rec'd tires and some other work by a now deceased owner with mileage noted but again that doesn'tprove anything.

It's original except someone put in some avocado green hi-lo carpet long ago probably close towhat came with car but I don't like it. Otherwise door panels headliner dash original and the latter two show it. Headliner has a couple of patches and is loose at last seam. The driver door panel has wear at the bottombut look o.k.at a glance as far as originality. Radio doesn't work; everything else o.k. Engine starts right up with minimum pumping of gas pedal. In fact if you're not careful it will flood. Original upholsteryhas tears at seams; has seat covers over part of it. Glass intact.

Outside there is surface rustat several places and near rockers and around drip railMore serious rustalong backs offront fenders where most Studebakers tended to rust. Other rust areas around roofare probably from some highway salt long ago in its history. I believe this car was garaged a lot being that it was from PA. It has undercoating. I've been under it with mechanic at Chevy dealer who is an old car person and we were amazed at how nice thecar appeared to be underneath.

NOS steering wheel has been painted matching color and installed brake light repaired and rear brake line replaced. Please don't bid unless you intend on buying. Good luck bidding on this potential daily driver as is but no a/c of course. I've driven it everyday for a week once in awhile. I've owned since 8/14 but have too much on my plate.

It should be mentioned that their is some chrome pitting around trunk trim and taillights. This is original car so of course it shows some of its 52 years of service and the environment can be unkind even if garaged. It was driven 80k.
