One of 4,356 built for 1957! Incredible detail in this cosmetically restored example! Mechanically outstanding and ready to immediate enjoyment!
The Studebaker Golden Hawk was built from 1955 through 1958 initially using Packard power under hood. Immediately known for their brutish power, he Golden Hawk set a new standard for automakers including Chevrolet’s Corvette and Chrysler’s NASCAR-inspired 300 Series. With Packard getting ready to close its doors for good, tudebaker designed an engine of their own to power their final two years of production. It was the Sweepstakes 289ci V8 enhanced with the Jet Stream McCulloch supercharger to produce 275 horsepower! These final years with contributions from Packard were said to be some of the most refined in the company’s history!
We are very excited to offer this 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk Hardtop! The car is finished in Tiara Gold Metallic & Arctic White two-tone exterior with matching gold and white two-tone interior vinyl upholstery! Under the hood is the original Sweepstakes 289ci V8 (stamped PS3366 – 1957 Golden Hawk supercharged) and date-coded McCulloch supercharger (stamped VS575101406) mated to a three-speed automatic transmission and transferring power to the ground via a 4.27:1 Twin-Traction rear end. Options and features on our particular car include dual outside mirrors, M radio with dual antennas, love box lamp, -speed electric wipers, oor handle paint guards and more! The car rides on Studebaker hubcaps with 215/75R15 Cavalier Deluxe 75 belted radial whitewall tires!
This 51,326 mile car immediately catches the eye as something that has been a treasure in every owner’s garage. The body is exceptionally straight, ith no signs of accident history above or below. The paint and chrome were likely done some time ago but still appear as very good. Similarly, he interior is also in great shape, ith no rips or tears in the beautiful white and gold vinyl, hich we believe to have also been done with the paint. In addition to a full detail, e contributed a new supercharger solenoid, nsuring that this car’s boost gauge could hit the desired 5 psi. In addition, e also made efforts to fix the wiper motor and assembly, hich were not working when the car arrived. Included with this Golden Hawk is a spare and jack in the trunk along with a trunk mat and tire cover. Also worth noting are the oil change stickers in the driver door jamb, till affixed and easily readable. We are confident that the next owner of this Studebaker will enjoy a magnificent example of one of Studebaker’s last golden era Hawks, nd one that is remarkably solid and ready to be enjoyed immediately! We would welcome any interested parties to call with additional questions! Thanks for looking!
