Description

I BOUGHT THIS VERY COOL OLD CAR IN ARKANSAS IN APRIL AND BROUGHT IT BACK TO VERMONT ABOUT A MONTH AGO, N THE BACK OF MY DODGE PICKUP - IT FIT BETWEEN THE WHEELWELLS! THE ONLY RUST I HAVE FOUND, THER THAN THE SURFACE RUST YOU SEE IN PICTURES (THIS IS NOT ROT, UST SURFACE RUST OVER SOLID METAL) IS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE GAS TANK, HICH RUSTED FROM WATER SITTING IN THE TANK OVER THE YEARS. I HAD A FRIEND GET THE 2 CYL 2 CYCLE ENGINE RUNNING FOR ME. IT RUNS GOOD BUT IT WILL NEED A LOT MORE WORK TO DRIVE IT ON THE ROADS. THE FOLLOWING ARE NOTES FROM MY FRIEND WHO WORKED ON THE CAR:
"BRAKE SYSTEM WILL NEED TO BE GONE THROUGH, HE MASTER CYLINDER AND WHEEL CYLINDERS NEED TO BE REBUILT, RAKE LINES REPLACED, ND SHOES RELINED OR REPLACED. THE IGNITION SWITCH ISN'T WORKING FULLY TO WHERE IT WILL RUN THE STARTER BUT IT'S POWERING THE COIL (THERE IS CONINUITY IN THE WIRE FROM THE SWITCH TO THE COIL), O THAT WILL NEED TO BE TAKEN APART IF POSSIBLE OR REPLACED. THE THROTTLE CABLE IS FRAYED, ND THE OIL INJECTOR CABLE IS KINKED AND BOUND UP. THE FUEL TANK WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED OR REPAIRED."
NEW TIRES ARE OF COURSE NEEDED PLUS A BATTERY. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURES, HE INTERIOR IS THERE, T WILL CLEAN UP PRETTY WELL BUT IT PROBABLY WON'T HOLD UP VERY WELL GIVEN IT'S AGE. I'M SURE THE VINYL IS PRETTY BRITTLE AT THIS POINT. THE REMOVABLE TOP WILL NEED NEW GASKETS, HERE IS A GAP IN THE FRONT ALONG THE WINDSHIELD SO OBVIOUSLY IT NEEDS TO BE UNDER COVER OR THIS WILL LEAK BADLY. THE GLASS IS GOOD BUT STARTING TO CLOUD UP SOME HERE AND THERE. THE PLASTIC PIECE OVER THE LEFT HEADLIGHT IS BROKEN AND IN ABOUT FOUR PIECES. I HAVE THE FOURTH HUBCAP WHICH IS KIND OF BEAT UP. THE HOOD IS OPEN RESTING ON THE TEMPORARY LITTLE "GAS TANK" BOTTLE THAT WAS PUT IN SINCE THE GAS TANK WAS RUSTY, UST SO THAT WE COULD GET THE CAR RUNNING.
THIS CAR CAME FROM MISSISSIPPI TO ARKANSAS IN 1993 AND HAS BEEN THERE EVER SINCE. IT HAS NEVER BEEN A NORTHERN CAR. THIS WILL BE A GREAT CAR TO RESTORE!! I CAN DELIVER FOR A FEE, ITHIN NEW ENGLAND OR ON THE WAY TO ARKANSAS WHERE WE'LL BE HEADING AFTER THE FIRST OF THE YEAR.
THANKS FOR LOOKING AND FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS. I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THESE CARS OTHER THAN THAT THEY ARE VERY COOL!! AND WICKED CUTE!!!
