FYI this is a no reserve auction. meaning whatever it goes for it goes for. I don't care what it ends up at. This isn't about the money; it’s about bringing cars to the light of the world that deserve life. If you have zero feedback contact me to let me know you're legit. I'm a Toyota guy let’s be clear about that. I went to college for it. I've owned 40+ of them. and I love this car. I loved it so much I bought it. It was shortly after that I realized its ok to relate inanimate objects to living beings and this car is basically a girl that is too hot for you. Your mom says she just wants to use you. your sister thinks she isn't hot. your grandma thinks she is dirty. what do those bitches know about a 4AGE with an ECT power button. Remind me to tell you about my 10 point scale here in a second. So back in college my friend had a Saab 900se turbo. btw if you need speed there is no cheaper way to beat a C4 vette on the interstate with a FWD car and a lot of laughter. So it was broken though. as it commonly was. and we were driving his moms 87 Camry 4cyl Automatic past the local college. We were stopped at a stoplight and what rolls up next to us? A Delorean. Let's be real. they look fast right? I reached over and pressed the ECT power button. somehow hoping that Toyota programmed a super-secret fuel map into the ECU that somehow turned the garbage 3S-FE engine into something more powerful than a lawn mower. You know who won that race? I'll give you a hint. I’m pretty sure Deloreans cannot actually hit 88mph because French V-6 engines are even weaker than the 3S-FE. they sure as hell don’t have a magic ECT power button like that Camry did. And this Corolla does. And I dare anyone to prove me wrong. prove that the ECT power button doesn't actually open up a micro worm hole inside the engine that funnels inordinate amounts of hopes. dreams. and green nitrous flames. People that think 5-Speeds are cool don't know un-cool it is to not have a button that says Power on it. Right thanks for reminding me to tell you about my 10 point scale. so the world is based off our law of attraction. You get a base rating created off a true bell curve scale with a dead corpse on one end and a photoshop super model on the other. You can only truly happily bridge that scale in a relationship by 2 points. 4's will be happiest with 4's in the long run period. But a 4 can become a 6 with the 2 point variance. 1 point for wit/intelligence/personality (basically the soul). 1 point for wealth (basically luck). If this car is a 7. 5 and named Isabella then I recently bought Jake D (DB2 Integra GSR listed in my other auction) and he is a 10. Problem is he has erectile dysfunction issues in the form of a power antenna that will go all the way up but only 3/4 of the way down leaving a constant chubby. And shortly after he arrived Isabella gained an STD in the form of a leaking fluid. So my only possible conclusion is they have been having an affair behind my back. and I'm pretty sure one of them has a fake twitter account because I keep getting strange hater tweets about the way my butt feels. So I’ve decided the only sensible thing to do is separate them and bring their relevance to the world. Before I have baby momma daddy issues (and then shortly after trap queen issues). I don't really know what any of that means but when in Rome. So some fast specs on the car. It is a 1 family owner car. the grandmother purchased it new from a showroom floor in California in 1987 (hence why it is automatic). We still have the original window sticker. sales person's card. manuals. etc. I mean check out the awesome options that were on this car! Fully loaded I guess. I have the autocheck record on it which shows it has a score of 41. way higher than other similar ones. and only 2 titled owners. Automatic FX-16 GTS are rare. the FX-16 GTS is rarer than the AE86 or AE92 GTS period. This is an AE82 GTS yo. The son got the car from her. and did way too much maintenance to it (it’s a Toyota dude chill out). So technically it has 2 owners but it’s basically a one owner car. This is considered low miles for a corolla. the car is rare. and one of the best cared for left in existence. Often garaged. below are the details. Interior: 9/10 good news is if you ever run out of checker boards to play a good game on the door panels can double as a game board with their perfect checker pattern cloth. The seats are in great shape. carpet. headliner. dash. console. door panels. and hatch. all in great shape. Only thing missing is the sliding cover for the shifter. The original spare tire. tools. and jack are all there. The only things with some wear are the drivers floor mat (common considering its 27 years old) and the steering wheel (oddly enough also 27 years old!). I even have the original window sticker if you want to laminate it and tape it to the window just to be that much of a boss. All the lights. switches. functions. gauges. features. doodads. bells. whistles. accessories. latches. levers. and buttons work as they should. A/C needs to be recharged. It even smells nice. just like every other late 80's Toyota. Whether or not you believe it the AM/FM SPX radio was actually an upgrade. All the climate control functions work. heat works great. Exterior: 8. 5/10 good news if you ever run out of the color white this car has some to spare. What I never noticed is the "power" bulge on the passenger side of the hood kind of like an 80's version of the eclipse to let you know there is something under there worth a damn. I love the way these cars look. 80's to a fault. From what I can tell it looks like the hood & front bumper may have been painted at some point due to fading clear coat. There is only 1 minor accident recorded in 27 years which I can't find evidence of. There are a couple dings it accrued over the years (biggest one on hood/fender). all of which could be knocked out by any paintless dent removal guy to make the car perfect. There is no undercarriage rust or wheel well etc. There were a couple paint chip spots that have been touched up inside the driver’s door jam. Everything works like it should. all the glass. wipers. lights. power mirrors. etc. It has the original wheels and faded center caps. The hatch decal has some bubbles in it but its all there. There is obviously a crack in the windshield. it’s about $200 for a new one. but it stopped bothering me a while ago. Somehow the car only attracts the perfect period correct songs through 99. 7 FM. I've never listened to the station prior to owning this car. and I’ve never switched the station since. Mechanical: 8/10 you know what there is never a bad time for? Owning a 4A-GE. There is a reason why this is the only Japanese engine to create an entire racing league around it (formula Atlantic). It is without a doubt one of the most reliable and legendary DOHC Japanese I-4 engines. At only 158k miles it has just hit puberty. I've owned a few of these and this is by far one of the strongest. since it has been chained to an automatic trans its whole life it hasn't had the chance to be driven as hard. This is the only automatic 4A-GE I’ve ever seen or driven. and I all I can say is that it is just fun. Simply fun. The car is so light and tossable and there is no shifting to bother with. you just put the stick in L - 2 - D and fly. Like a go kart. It’s easy to tell when an mk3 supra has been beat up; you get in it and the first thing you notice is the TEMS button is in sport mode and always in sport. The first thing I noticed about this car is the ECT button was in sport mode. But for a much different reason. In normal mode it just shifts at too low of an RPM for a high revving 4A-GE. This engine doesn't come alive until after 4500rpms and TVIS opens up those additional intake manifold ports. The car needs nothing to drive to California and back. Trans shifts smooth though if you’re not in sport mode 2-3 is confusing. The engine is smooth as can be. could use a valve adjustment at some point on sheer age alone. The timing belt/water pump has been replaced along with the plugs/wires/starter/battery etc. All the common items. Trans fluid is older I’d recommend changing that. and as a 27 year old 4AGE it does have its one oil leak at the distributor like every other old 4AGE on the planet. Factory strut tower bar is in place. 4-wheel disc brakes are all there; the suspension doesn't have a single pop or squeak in it. All 4 struts have been replaced. It also has 4 brand new Falken tires and a recent laser 4 wheel alignment. tracks perfectly straight and smooth down the road with the steering wheel straight. Car is just simply fun and worry free to drive. No smoke from the tail pipe. runs just under half on the temp gauge. no oil pressure issues. hell no issues worth mentioning. It’s all stock. never been modified. and the lowest mileage most OEM original FX-16 GTS you'll find for sale anywhere this week. Thanks for looking. good luck bidding. if you have any questions that I forgot to answer on here ask away. I’ll respond promptly.
