1991 Toyota Land Cruiser LJ78 Prado RHD Diesel!

Up for sale is this very cool and hard to find 1991 Toyota Landcruiser LJ78 Prado! This is a Japanese Domestic Market vehicle and is RHD. It is fitted with a 2.4L Turbo Diesel 4-Cyl engine and an automatic transmission. This vehicle was imported from Japan 10 years ago, nd just imported into the US, y me, -months ago. Vehicles that were never sold in the USA have to be at least 25-years old to be legally imported. This being a 1991, ust turned 25-years old. Not many 91's in the states yet! This Landcruiser is very rare because it is wearing 100% of it's original paint and is RUST FREE. I bought this car in person, rom the previous owner in Vancouver, ritish Columbia. I had the previous owner drop the car off at ATEB in Burnaby, C (just outside Vancouver) to have them go through the car from front to back. I then flew to Seattle with my wife and 2 young children, rought the car over the border, nd drove 2,500mi home in the middle of January....this Land Cruiser didn't skip a beat! We encountered plenty of snow, ce, limbed up 8,500ft, nd averaged over 20mpg the entire way! These Landcruiser Prados are EXCELLENT trucks! Very comfortable, passenger seating capacity, unroof, utomatic, ltimeter, nside/outside temp gauge, ush button locking hubs, i/Lo 4WD, oil spring and torsion bar suspension (WAY more comfortable that leaf springs), tc, tc! This 2L-TE 4-cyl Diesel motors has been known to have it's issues, nd for years enthusiasts have said that the head needs to be upgraded to a newer style head to improve cooling and eliminate head gasket issues. Although the updated head does cut down on this issue drastically, t is not a full proof system! The shop I just had service the truck in Burnaby specializes in RHD Diesel Toyotas. Everyone there drives, ou guessed it, J78 Prados just like this one! They have done a bunch of research and found that the issue with this 2L-TE engine is the cooling system doesn't flow the volume that it needs to keep temps down, o they developed their own fix after figuring out that the coolant flow bottle neck is at the thermostat housing. They updated housing utilizes a much larger Toyota thermostat and corrects the issue! When I had them inspect and service this truck in January for me, hey found that the head gasket was showing signs of leakage. Being that I had a 2500mi road trip ahead of me with my wife and children, told them to do whatever it took to make the truck right! The best part is, hen they removed the head, hey figured out that the truck does have an updated head, ut whoever had done the head gasket did not prep the block as well as they should, nd the gasket wasn't set quite right. So.....$3,500 later, his Prado is bulletproof! Updated head, ew head gasket, pdated and improved thermostat and housing, s well as a new air filter, oth alternator belts, ew timing belt, iming belt cover gaskets, alve adjustment, nd they fixed the sticky parking brake as well. Car comes with the receipt for all of this work done on 1/11/2016 by ATEB. Feel free to call them and ask about this truck and they can tell you just how rock solid it is! Everything on the truck works as it should with the exception of the the oil pressure gauge. Due to our tight timeline with travel, opted to have the head gasket issue fixed instead of diagnosing this issue. After the work they did, nd 2,500+ issue free miles, can assure you the oil pressure is as good as it's ever been. Otherwise, verything works as it should!!
