Description

Terrific example of the classic, legendary, and nearly indestructible FJ62 with original paint and a very rare painted on (not a decal) striping on the sides. Car has some miles, though not nearly as many as it can easily handle, so paint is imperfect in the most wonderfully authentic vintage way. These cars run forever, are increasing in value, and the 62's are the automatic transmission/square headlight iteration most in demand.
Vehicle has no body rust. Not a little patch, not a small spot in the wheel wells, none.
Interior is in very, very original condition--one small cigarette burn on the fabric, header and seats are in great condition, all as it rolled of the production line.
Mechanicals all original on this most originally vintage SUV's except where brought back to current spec.Overall the condition is authentic to the age of the vehicle, though one that has clearly been cared for by its caretakers. Only obvious non-original equipment is aftermarket CD player, though I have the original radio/tape player to install if requested. Automatic antenna doesn't work. Trunk area has some scuffs and wear to the fabric. Back bumper has minor ding. All inexpensively fixable cosmetic issues. That's it, rest of the rig is as you'd want it to be.
Purchased for $10,500, then spent over $11,000 having it brought back to original driving shape by TLC 4x4 (brakes, steering, shocks, engine work, etc.). They are the best in the business and the best doesn't come cheaply. Have put less than 5,000 miles on it since. Receipts available for all work and can share if requested.
Drives, runs, turns, stops, heats, cools, and all around performs excellently. Just did a round trip with the family from Southern California to Northern California without any issues, comfortably cruising at highway speeds for long stretches.
A new addition to the family makes this no longer practical so am sad to see it go to its next faithful steward. Can be a daily driver, a terrific weekend and beach/vacation transport (as it was for us), or someone could do just a bit more work and have a fully restored most excellent ride.
Can ship to most parts of the country for $500 or less (depending on distance from Southern California), or buyer can arrange their own transportation.
Serious inquiries only please, can share extensive photos and video of the LC driving around, along with TLC receipts, etc. if requested.
