Land Cruiser Nationis selling this 1979 FJ40 for a customer. The truck is located in Michigan. There are several photos if you click on the link.
Over a year of work and well over $100K in parts, labor, blood, sweat and tears was expended torestore this 1979 FJ40 for Rusty Wallace Toyota in 2008. They built her from the ground up to sit as the centerpiece of his Toyota Dealership in TN.
1979 through 1983 FJ40's are the most sought after classic Land Cruisers due to their many refinements over earlier years.2F engine, Taller 3.70 gears for better highway driving, front disc brakes, 4-speed manual synchronizedtransmission, bucket seats, roll bar, ambulance doors, larger fuel tank, etc.
More recently, the brakes were completely gone through by Toyota in 2014. The truck is close to flawless and everything works as it should with the exception of the odometer which like so many FJ40’s has gotten stuck over the last couple years (less than 500 miles ago).
She’s been driven very sparingly and only in the summer on nice days since the restoration. We have several photos from the restoration that will be included. The truck is stock with the exception of the white spoke wheels and a Webercarburetor.
This old school 4WD serves up an awesome combination of off-roading prowess. Front disc and rear drum brake combination will bring all you to a quick and uneventful stop.The color is the original Toyota Freeborn Red (309). This FJ40 comes with Owners Manual, Jack & Jack Rods. Here's an FJ40 that was restored without a budget. Whatever it needed, it got. It's every bit as functional and capable today as it was in when it drove off the showroom floor. It's right at home at your favorite malt shop next to other vintage cars, or conquering the Rubicon.
