Description

1978 FJ 40 is excellent unrestored original condition. Vehicle is 99% rust free. The vehicle is completely original except for a bad paint job that covers the original green paint. the vehicle runs and drives as a unrestored 1978 vehicle should. The steering is tight and the brakes work well. Everything works as it should on this vehicle. The vehicle still has the original door safety straps and jack assembly in the cab. The spare tire on the back door looks to be original to the vehicle or at leaf the late 1970's. The interior is in great condition. The seats and steering wheel are in excellent condition. The dash pad does have cracks. Has auxiliary fuel tank. Original bill of sale from dealer (not window sticker) from 1978 is still in the glove box. Rust: One small area on the top of each front fender by the turn signals. tiny bubbles on front of hood. small spots under right rear ambulance door. not sure about the rear lip under the ambulance doors as it is covered by an aluminum strip. There is one area of body filler on the right front just below the vent door. Not sure why but it is there. does not appear to be any rust on the back side. The undercarriage has only surface rust. no rot. If you are looking for a vehicle to restore this is the one to start with. This vehicle will save you money in a restoration.
