1978 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 series 4x4 for sale on this no-reserve auction. Winning bidder takes it! I bought this Cruiser in California a couple years ago. have enjoyed the heck out of it. time to free up some space in my shop. so here she is for sale. I’ve owned several Cruisers over the years. this year is a must have for the 4 speed transmission. disc brake front axle with fine spline shafts and 4. 10 gears. The 2F motor is all together better than the older F motors. This is a great FJ40 for someone that does not want to spend a lot of money. but still enjoy this legendary vehicle. I have extremely limited video skills. but figured a video was better than none showing this Cruiser running. https://youtu. be/NCL-PktBd5g The motor is the original 2F inline 6. it runs great. no smoke. has all the emission equipment intact. The 4 speed shift great. clutch works great. Disc brake original front axle. original rear axle 4. 10 geared. I drive this truck on back roads at 60-65mph with a smile on my face. This Cruiser goes down the road as good as any Cruiser I’ve driven. (Relative term any FJ40 owner understands). The red paint is original. there is surface rust. I had a hot rod shop cut out the small rust spots and seal them up with primer. I added the rear part of a stock roll-bar to protect the kids in event of roll-over. The bikini top is a Spector Off Road extended unit to cover the roll-bar. The wheels and caps are stock. The rear tail-gate came from CCOT. The frame looks excellent. original body and frame. no signs of any accident. VIN tags in stock location. and on the frame. I have a good clean title in hand. This FJ40 is sold how you see it in the pictures. I never had a hard top or doors for it. This is not a perfect restored Cruiser like others I have. but it is one of the more enjoyable to drive. I can take it up a gravel road. if it gets rained on. no big deal. I don’t watch it from inside a restaurant hoping a bird won’t crap on it. it’s just a cool old 4x4 that creates conversation wherever I go. J I’m not talking myself into keeping it.
