Recent Repairs
- Rear driveshaft was replaced due to bad u-joints. I picked one up at a junkyard.
- Heater blower motor replaced.
- Alternator replaced
- Burns appx 1qt oil every 1500 miles.
- Rear differential leaks at pinion
- Wheels are out ofalignmentbut notseverely
- Steering wheel is not straight when traveling straight on the road. I suspect this is not just analignmentissue but that the wheel is not centered in the splines for the steering rod.
- Emergency brake does not work. Cables to the rear axle are missing
- Toward the end of my trip I had trouble getting it into gear a couple times. I suspect the clutch needs bled.
- There is no key for the doors. I have an ignition key and a rear door key.
- Rust. The worst is on the bottoms of the doors and fenders.
- Driver door binds with the fender upon opening
- The only leak I can find on the camper portion is the front window. I never tried to fix it. The water just trickles down and out some weep holes.
- The threshold between the camper and cab needs attention. It actually doesn't leak water there but with windows down you can get some exhaust circulation into the cab. The truck comes with some West Systems epoxy resin and fiberglass mat. I filled the gap with some spray foam and intended to use that as a form to extend the fiberglass body. There is about 1/2 to 3/4" flex between the cab and camper so you'll need something to accommodate that. It will take some creativity.
- It also includes a back up camera and screen that needs to be installed. You can't see a thing behind you as it is.
- The inside is bare bones. I added a foam mattress. It works as a camper but if you're looking for a "domestic" interior then you've got your work cut out for you.
