This car was recently acquired from it's long term California owner who completed a body-off-the-frame restoration on the car in 2005 with only 3500 miles since. It has been restored in arguably the best color scheme for a TR of this period. This car runs and drives fantastic and is still presenting extremely well. It is the later and more desirable post TS 60000 produced bodyshell with improved pressings making the car's structure more rigid and sturdy. This is identified by the raised hood and trunk hinges redesigned door shells and larger spare tire cavity.The car has some very nice upgrades including a full syncromesh gearbox (TR-4 style) rack and pinion steering kit fitted finned aluminum valve cover radiator over-flow bottle fitted alternator with improved wiring harness and free-flow Monza style muffler.Details of the restoration include a fully rebuilt engine rebuilt braking and fuel system front suspension excellent bodywork and paint mostly new chromework wiring harness completely new tan trim including leather seats panel kit carpet kit new soft top sidescreen set and matching tonneau cover seat belts new 60-spoke chrome wire wheels fitted with 165x15 radial tires new exhaust rebuilt instruments.This car is mechanically superb and runs and drives exceptionally well with perfect road behavior. The car tracks very straight down the road with nice suspension and easy rack and pinion steering (unlike the vague original worm and peg set-up). The engine pulls very hard through it's crisp-shifting 4-speed gearbox and is pure fun to drive with that classic British 4-cylinder exhaust note. All of the instruments are functioning correctly.The car has been recently detailed with some minor paint touch-up to some stone chips. The body appears very nice with normal gaps and no previous accident damage noted. This car has been garaged since the restoration and still appears excellent overall.
