1964 Triumph TR-4 Roadster
Not very often does someone keep a car for 50 years. His wife explained this was his pride and joy and babied it his entire life. The car was always kept in the garage and he enjoyed taking it to shows and events.
The paint is still very nice and as the owner stated the rear of the car has been repainted. She may not remember over that time, ut we believed most of the car was repainted but done long ago and seriously difficult to detect. There is no sign of any serious damage. The sides are laser straight and the body lines are like it came from the factory. Doors, ood, enders and trunk fit beautifully. The glass is original. The chrome is very good for its age.
The interior is in excellent condition. The seats are original leather with good seams. I thought about lightly coloring the black leather to make it pop but decided it was probably not smart. The dash has survived amazingly well. All the instruments work properly. The soft top was replaced and dated 1974.
The motor runs like a watch and starts easily with no smoke. The transmission shifts smoothly. It drives exceptionally well at 60 mph. It has nearly new Michelin tires and spare. The wire wheels don't appear to have ever hit a curb and are well balanced. This has the original tools, eys and wire wheel spare.
When we purchased it early this year we have never cleaned the motor or interior. It is exactly like the owner kept it in amazing condition. Very rare factory black with black leather. Originalcondition and lots of receipts. Owner's manual and letter from his wife verifying the original 68,000 miles.
