Description

*Due to issues downloading pictures for my original ad, decided the best thing to do was start fresh and relist.

**Although I do not have a buy it now, am willing to entertainrealistic, respectful offers to end the auction. I also have the Beetle listed for sale locally and reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Thanks

I have taken multiple pictures of the under-side of the car. Please email me if you would like to see these.

I purchased this VW Beetle 1 month ago, ere on Ebay. I have a personal family issue that arose, nd I need to help as soon as possible. This will require me tosell the Beetle. I will give a short but detailed description of the 1960 Beetle. I tend to be a bit more critical of vehicles that I sell, hen some might.

I was not at all disappointed with theBeetle when I arrived to look it over andpick itup. I drove from the top of Michigan`s thumbto Maine and trailered the car home. Please look at my feedback to see the original ad / transaction for description and pictures from previous owner ( look for josh-13 feedback ). The previous owner had owned the Beetle for approx. 24 years, nd the one who had the Beetle restored.

Once I had the car home, realized the battery ( 6 volt system ) was not holding / maintaining a charge. I bought a new 6 volt battery andalso put on a correct ground cable for the battery. This seems to have helped. The issue now isthat it isextremely finicky starting now that the cold weather has set in.Today I am going to see about dropping it off at a shop to get things figured out so that there are no known problems for the new owner.

The body and pan are reallynice, ne of the cleanest cars I have ever seen / owned ( I do not buy rust ). The passenger side pan has had approx. 1/2 replaced, rofessionally. The engine, nce runningruns great. I have been driving around the tip of the thumb for the last 3 weeks in it at 25 - 60 mph. A blast to drive.

The brakes pulled hard to the left when first driving but are easing up now. The car had sat for the better part of 15 years with very minimal use. Lights, urn signals, nd brake lights all work as they should. Radio works but signal is weak. Horn is in-operable and I have not looked into it. The gas gauge ( added at some point ) appears to be accurate. Seats are nice with added padding for more comfortwhen redone. Rear seat has small tears at the bottom front corners, ut are not really noticeable. Door panels are old, aybe original.Carpet and mats are nice. Bamboo shelf added. Dash is very nice.

If anything were in need of replacing, would say the head liner. It is the cloth type with some staining, mall tears where lower rear seat rubs when lifting up and lowering back into place. It also appears to have drawn in slightly on the underside of the ragtop. Replacing the headliner anda new door panel set would finish the interior off nicely.

Exterior... There are a few scratches in the paint, ut over all thepaint isextremely nice for a driver. There is ZERO FILLER, UBBLES in this car. From my research, his is a 1 year only color... Ceramic Green which I believe may be written on a tag under the hood ( see picture ). I believe the bumpers to be original to the car and are driver quality. I cleanedthe set up andthey look decent. The door handles have pitting. The bottom of doors, oor jams ect are clean and very nice with no rust or filler. All glass, xcept windshield appear to be orig.German glass and in nice condition. Windshield has minimal scratches and no cracks. All rubbers around theglass / door jams are nice, oft. The ragtop / sunroof functions as it should. Tires are Michelins, ike new and run fine with no flat spots. I see virtually no leaks so far from the underside. I am no expert on these early VWs, o I will just say that to me 2nd gear is tricky although I am much better with it than initially. I was told there was anengine rebuild with new clutch when the restoration was done. I was also told that this is a numbers matching car, ut I have not bothered verifying this.

This is a very clean, arly ragtop that runs well. I feel with minimal upgrades, his is a mid to high teens ( 15k - 19k ) Beetle.

I will do my best to have the hard start corrected prior to end of auction. I am also listing the 1960 Beetle locally due to the need to move the car as quickly as possible. Feel free to ask questions, will do my best to answer. I am an older adult and have sold many vehicles here. Bid with confidence. My feedback speaks for itself. Thanks
