Description

I am listing my 1970 VW Bus for sale as I have come into another Bus I would rather keep. I have owned the bus for over a year after purchasing it from a local guy that had it in a field for the last 10+ years. It will be a great cruiser bus when finished with your touches and a motor. This is a very solid Bus that requires very little to make it your own. Really it needs a motor and thats it to have a great running, riving, topping bus. After that use the new door panels and cover them in your own custom material to make the bus your own. From there the possibilities are endless. Its a 1970 VW Bus that has had all of the hard work already done.I now have papers on the Bus through the state of Vermont. It is clear in my name and ready for sale. This is a permanent transferable registration as the state of Vermont does not issue titles on vehicles that are 15 years or older.
The bus has been lowered with all new Wagenswest suspension. It has their 2" narrowed adjustable beam with 2" drop spindles, ie rods and ends, all joints (great shape used german joints) and bearings. The rear has there 4.5" drop plates. The bus also has new lowered shocks as well. This is the best kit to lower your bay window with that is built in the USA. All in all the kit ran $2000.00 after all was said and done. The bus rides very very smooth with this kit being lowered.
Bus was recently resprayed with an aftermarket paint to the closest math to savanna beige I could find. It is not perfect and I was not going to make it perfect only look better going down the road. It's a good 15' paint job. There is some slight body damage to the nose that was repaired by the PO. I didn't do much to repair this as It isn't that bad for a daily. There is also some slight damage on the drivers side that I didn't repair but would be very easily repaired again.
Interior has new carpet kit and bare door panels. There isn't a headliner. It does have good front seats that have new seat covers on them just not secured and a mint rear seat with brackets. Look at as a blank canvas to make it your own.
I went through the buses electrics and sorted out the wiring mess so all electrics with lights work now and well. I also went through the brakes and replaced all soft lines, heel cylinders, hoes, nd went through the master cylinder. The brakes stop well and the ebrake works great.
The windshield wipers don't work. It may just be the switch or motor. I didn't bother to check on that as it wasn't on the important list for me.
The bus is sitting on stock 14" bus wheels with good tires that have plenty of miles left in them.
The original trans shifts through all gears and doesn't make any bad noise. I was able to drive it with the motor I had in it but the motor is not included with the bus.
The bus is very dry with minimal rust just starting in the inner rocker on the drivers side and insides of the dog legs. The battery tray is gone and there is a small 2x2" square in the passenger wheel well. Front floors and cargo are solid. All out riggers and cross members are solid as well. The frame is in great shape as well. It's a 45 year old VW Bus and there are far worse options out there to buy. Yes this bus has some rust but in reality it is very minimal and very very solid. One of the driest VW Bus I've ever owned.
