1987 Vanagon Westfalia Weekender Wolfsburg edition Multi Van. 2 owner low mile van. 144k original documented miles. Factory A/C and cruise control. Relatively rare factory Wolfsburg Edition weekender model (Multi Van).One key fits all locks including the gas cap. Manual transmission. The van was bought new is Southern California, hen made its way to The Pacific North West in 1999. It was then purchased in 1999 by the second owner with 98k miles and drivenseveral years. The van was then stored for 10 years in till I purchased the van. Absolutely 100% rust free, o seam rust. The original paint is in excellent condition. The interior looks almost new. I took it to one of the best shops in the North West that specialize in Vanagons. I had them look over the van from top to bottom. All recommended repairs were done at a cost of over $1100.00. The van needed minor repairs do to its long term storage. Very desirable weekender interior.
Motor and Transmission- Rebuilt top end at 97k miles. The water pump was replaced at that time. The water cooled 2.1 liter runs perfectly. Fresh complete tune up including but not limited to fuel filter, istributor cap, otor, lugs, ires, ir filter, il change, ransmission service, ew fuel lines. Brand new muffler, dle control module and O2 sensor. The van has been meticulously maintained since new. The motor runs great, ransmission shift crisp and precise. Steering is tight, rakes are good.
Interior- The interior is in near mint condition. Rare weekender interior. The seats are comfortable and have no rips, tains or damage. The headliner is excellent. The carpet is in good condition. All curtains are in excellent condition. The interior cabinets are in like new condition. I just had the interior professionally detailed and shampooed, t a cost of $220.00. There are four seat belts in back including the jump seat.
Paint and Body- The paint and body are in excellent condition. The paint is original and is in excellent condition, ay for a couple dings and scratches. I had the original paint professionally polished to a beautiful shine. The bumpers are in excellent condition. All door and body seals are in good condition, o leaks. Arrow strait body and lines. Very dry van with no cancer. Brand new front windshield and seal. New pinstripe professionally designed and installed in the original Westfalia design. Always garaged.
Brakes and Suspension. Brand new upper ball joints. New Alignment. The complete front end and suspension was inspected by one of the best VW Vanagon Shops in the NW and in excellent condition, he report was that the suspension/ bushings, ie rods, ctwas in excellent condition. The front brakes are good. The master cylinder, ear brakes and wheel cylinders have been replaced.
Pop Top- The pop top canvas is in excellent condition. The fiber glass top is in excellent original condition as well as the upper bunk cushion.
Other- The A/C was dye tested for leaks and recharged at 90k miles. The van has cruise control, ut it currently does not work. Heavy duty rear hitch with trailer hook up. This van is set up to tow a small trailer. New main battery. The van also comes with its detachable front windshield curtain, ack, nd bug screen.
The original owners took excellent care of this van. This is one of the nicest original Vanagons on the market. This is a no story original paint, ust free low mile survivor that has been well maintained and cared for its entire life. The van comes with maintenance and repair records, mission records, ales contract. I have invested a lot of time and money into this van. The van needs nothing and is ready for cross country driving or camping adventures.
