1971 Karmann Ghia Coupe - Low Mileage Survivor Price: $12. 001971 Karmann Ghia with Auto Stick Transmission - $12. 00 An example of a true survivor. with only 46. 00 documented miles. For sale by the second owner – you can be the third! We have serviced the car since it was purchased 5 years ago from the original owner with only 36. 00 miles on it. The car was purchased at John Meyer Volkswagen in Dayton. Ohio in 1971 by a college professor who commuted to work in it and kept meticulous maintenance records all serviced by Columbus. Ohio dealers and private Import shops. All documentation is included. including original owners manual. maintenance book. and window sticker! The car was parked and stored inside from about 1990-2010. at which time it received a new set of tires and a tune-up when purchased by the current owner. Regular maintenance has included oil changes. valve adjustments. air cleaner maintenance. spark plug/wires/points/cap/rotor/condenser replaced/battery replacement. Fuel pump was replaced and carburetor serviced. All fuel lines have been changed. Both front door body seals were replaced recently. Otherwise. car retains all components as delivered from the dealer in 1971. Color is Lemon Yellow and is original paint inside and what looks like one nice respray on the exterior. There is no evidence of collision damage or dents. Interior is black leatherette vinyl and the carpet is charcoal gray. both also original. There is minor rust issues in the lower front wheel well/rocker sections and headlight buckets. but areas have been sealed and are serviceable. Car runs well but is starting to burn a little oil. The Autostick transmission works very well. shifting easily between L-1-2 and Reverse. All electrical components work. including the original Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. There is a bit of play in the steering wheel. but otherwise the ride and handling are very good. Car is located at our shop and can be viewed by appointment.
