You're looking at a 1967 Volkswagen Cal Look Bug. A real attention getter ! A lot of money and time have been spent on the car. It runs and drives great. The odometer reads 70,775 but the actual mileage is unknown. It has twin 40 IDF Webers, full flow oil system, high pressure oil pump, merged exhaust, 009 distributor, Pertronix ignition and coil, alternator rather than a generator, stinger exhaust, new cap and rotor, Taylor 8mm spark plug wires, new air filters and a new fuel filter. It has a Select-a-Drop front end and Empi 5 spoke wheels. The tires are in great shape. It has an Empi shifter and seats and also new seat belts.
The interior has been redone with new carpet, headliner, seats re-upholstered, new front and rear door panels, new arm rests and new sun visors. I'm not sure of the brand of the steering wheel, but it is missing the horn button. It has VDO gauges, all of them work including the gas gauge. The speedometer does not work. It has a JVC stereo, CD player with Ipod hookup and a Rockford Fosgate Amplifier with JBL speakers and it sounds great. There is no heater because of the stinger exhaust. If you were to change the exhaust, you could hook up the heater. The wipers, lights and blinkers all work. The emergency brake works, and all four brake drums were just adjusted. The brakes work great.
The paint is white with a hint of pearl in it with baby blue and medium blue stripes and dark blue rear. The car has just had a professional detail and looks great. The paint looks nice with very minor imperfections. It's straight, but it has a chip at the door hinge (as shown), there is a crack near the stinger and there are scuff marks on the front hood (as shown). It has a new windshield and all new Cal Look glass rubbers (no chrome in the rubbers). The windows have been tinted. The door glass rolls up and down fine and the vent windows open and close fine. It has new hood, trunk and door seals and all new fender beading, Empi aluminum door sill plates and new running board rubber. New tail light lenses, new tail light gaskets, new license plate light gasket.
The underside of the trunk and hood have been undercoated. It looks really clean underneath both. The gas tank and shield have been painted red. I do have a stock spare rim with a good used tire. It has been bead blasted and painted gloss black.
It's a solid car. It has a solid pan and rockers. The only rust that I could find are two small spots, one up front (as shown) and one on the side (as shown). And where the rear bumper bracket was mounted on the passenger side, there is some damage there (as shown).
To sum it up, this is a very cool little car with a lot of eyeball! A California car, currently registered in my name. This car definitely makes a statement! Check out the videos!
