Description

~**UPDATE/CORRECTION**~In Sept 2014 when the engine was completely rebuilt. the odometer was set back to zero. The car has been driven less than 5. 00 miles since completely rebuilding the engine. Unfortunately. the odometer is still not working. Prior to the engine rebuild. the estimated mileage of the car was 160. 00~End update 4/14/15Owner since 2010. Odometer was broken when I bought it. Recently repaired/updated-New soft-top October 2013-Front axle shafts replaced Jan 2015-New alternator Jan 2014-Engine rebuild Sept 2014 including: new cylinder heads. new timing belt. replaced head gaskets & bolts. new water pump-New clutch installed July 2010 at time of purchase- 4 new tires purchased within the last year- regular oil changes and maintenance. Service records available upon request. Registration is current and car runs great (hauls A** uphill!). Biggest flaw: probable electrical issues- cause of odometer not working. Minor dings and scratches. car needs new paint. Side trim (black) is a plastic piece and the mounting clips are broken. Still have the piece. have not found replacement clips. Recommend replacing one of the hydraulic lifts for the soft top as it is bent. I have the piece. will sell with the car. Plastic panel for heater/AC is broken off. but the buttons still work. See photo of damaged area. Interior cloth seats were recently steam cleaned by a professional. No idea as to previous owner. but I have never been a smoker and car does not smell of smoke. Let's be real here. This is a great car. I've put a lot of work into it. but it will need more in the future. I'm looking for a VW enthusiast who will love this car as much as I did and take good care of it and spruce it up to near it's former glory because they have the skills and talents to do so. I've outgrown this car and want it to go to a good home. You will get a lot of great driving miles out of this car. It's surprisingly reliable and hardy. I don't know it's whole history and as a green-broke-as-h***-just-graduated-college buyer. I didn't do much research into it. When I bought this car. it was left at the shop my brother (an ASE certified. Diesel mechanic who is an engine specialist) worked at and he personally fixed it up for me then sold it to me for the cost of the parts and labor. Sale as is. You have to come pick it up or arrange shipping yourself. I'll meet you within 30 miles of either of the two closest airports (San Jose. CA or Monterey. CA) if you can't come directly to me. 10% of the sale price up front via PayPal. Rest of the sale price via Certified Check or Money Order. No credit. no personal checks. no cash. I will have DMV paperwork ready to go. You hand me the balance due. I hand you keys and the pink slip and you can drive happily away. In the event of a shipping situation. You will only receive the pink slip once I have received full payment. Please email if you want more pictures. but please specify what area of the vehicle you want the photo of. (Car only. pervs. )
