In June of 1963, Norbert Scholz from Ohio decided he wanted a brand new Volkswagen Bus. He then went to Holbert’s Garages Inc. (Dealership) on Main St. in Warrington, Pennsylvania where he purchased the Vw Microbus you see now. The two would be together for the next 50 years. Throughout his life, moving to California and then Southern New Mexico, Norbert took exceptional care of his German Bus. He did such an amazing job preserving his Bus that more than half a century later (at time of restoration) not a speck of rust could be found. There is not a single panel or piece of metal that needed replacement. Whether you are familiar with Volkswagen Buses or not, it isn’t difficult to understand how rare this is. In the years I’ve been involved with Volkswagens I have never encountered a vehicle as clean and dry as this Bus. Included in the sale are an original service booklet, original distributor and dealers booklet, and a Volkswagen Transporter instruction manual. You even get the original dealer badge from Holbert’s. Please read the entire posted description and as you enjoy the many pictures of this beautifully rare German Microbus, take notice of original pieces like the ice blue sun visors and spare tire cover. A friend of mine purchased the Bus from Norbert’s daughter after his passing in 2013. The winner of this auction will be on a very short list of owners.
