Description

Up for auction is my authentic Hadley Veep (later known as the Scamp). As you may know the Veep is a 1970s-era kit car that combines an authentic Willys Jeep body with VW Beetle running gear on a custom box-section frame. This is a complete running car in great mechanical shape. It starts easily. idles smoothly. accelerates and brakes normally and is a thrill to drive. The all steel body is in good/fair shape. The hood. fenders and body tub are mostly solid. But there is some rotten metal on the bottom of the body tub (see photos). The frame is solid but does have surface rust. The windshield glass was cut a little small so there’s some rubber filler on the right end. This Veep uses the running gear from a 1971 Beetle and features the following: Stock rebuilt 1600cc dp Beetle dog-house engine with less than 1600 miles Dual Dellorto 34FRD carbs (Baby Dells) Electric fuel pump Stock 1971 Beetle 4-speed IRS tranny 15-inch Centerline wheels Continental tires. 195/70 R15 front. 205/65 R15 rear 1971 ball-joint front axle with disc brakes with new rotors and bearings Full complement of vintage VDO Cockpit yellow-face gauges including tach. speedo. oil pressure. volts. amps. oil temp and fuel 009 distributor with Ignitor electronic ignition Scat gear shift Headlight guards Fog lights Back up light Horn Retractable seat belts Back seat Inside and outside rear view mirrors Single tip exhaust Bikini top Roll bar Tow bar that mounts to the front bumper Clean CA title registered through April 2016 Smog exempt in Calif Also included are 2 canvas doors and the frame pieces for a full top.
