Description
15 Window Volkswagen Bus. Ready to drive. 1500 cc engine. 1973 Brazilian Kombi. Recently imported. This is NOT some oddball conversion. This a true 15 window. Keep in mind. this is a completely original 1973 splitty. It is hard find buses that haven't been messed with. welded. lowered. painted etc. this can be your blank canvas to customize how you'd like. or just enjoy the natural patina. and drive it!This is a solid driver. and has never been in snow. ice or salted roads. Remember. this bus has never been restored. so it's not perfect. and there is some rust in the normal locations. such as door hinges. and areas around exterior attached fixtures. Other than that. it's an honest bus in good working condition. All seats are included. and are in fair condition. The interior is common to the standard model. and has the working overhead fresh air vent. The car is not yet registered but it's fully cleared through US Customs. and ready to register. I do not have a Brazilian title to this bus. as my freight forwarder did not send the paperwork (jerk). but I am working on trying to get it from him. However. I do have the paper trail of all supporting documents. clearances (including EPA and DOT exemption). and proof the bus has every right to be here. I've had a lot of success registering these cars in CA. However. and honestly. due to California's strict registration laws. it may be a bit more difficult to register; totally possible. but MIGHT be more time consuming. I have a few tips for interested party's in CA on how to get these cars to fly if you contact me. And those of you in California that are DMV savvy. it will not be a problem. There are even independent agencies that will do this for you. All other states won't be a problem. On that note. buyer will be responsible for registration and shipping to your location. The bus is currently being stored. indoors. in the San Francisco Bay area. I can help facilitate the transport to your location. with recommendations of reliable transport companies. eBay does not ID foreign VIN #'s. The VIN is : BH297012Warning: don't be fooled by vendors selling these Kombis that are still in Brazil. They claim the shipping is $1. 00 US. and only a 2. 5% US customs fee. This is NOT true. If you can even get one of these out of the country. it will set you back at least $5. 00 in shipping and clearance on the Brazilian side. It then has to be loaded on a boat (extra $$$ if you don't know someone to do it for you. If not. it's at least $1500 for packing and transport). and 45 days later. you'll have it cleared through US customs; which by the way. is about $2. 00. if you're lucky. I had to go to Brazil myself in order to get this bus cleared through the Brazilian red tape ($1600 plane fare). If you are seriously looking at one of these buses. make it easy on yourself. and buy one that is already here. It honestly isn't worth the time. money. and aggravation for an inexperienced person. Plus. you never know what you're going to get. and you have very little recourse if you're not satisfied. I may also add. Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers will promise you the world. and act like it's the easiest thing. and provide door to door delivery. but will they inevitably fail. and the true price will be revealed. Don't be fooled! Just a word to the wise. Also. I know that I have a ZERO rating on eBay. as I have just reentered online selling after many years in hibernation. Don't let this concern you. I'm not a newbie at this. just new after a decade or so not taking advantage of this platform. I can assure you. I am totally up front and ready to field any questions that will make you more comfortable. We all have to start/restart somewhere/sometime! : ) I also have additional pictures upon request. If you have any questions please contact me at 415 603 8088Thanks for stopping by!Edward
