I am throwing in my spare sand tires and wheels!My son and I have decided it is time to sell our toys. I am getting too old to be out in the garage and I promised him if he helped me sell he could use the money to go to college. The restoration build was just completed on this vintage buggy. It is a Manx Meyers style body over a solid VW and California titled as a 1967 VW. It is smog exempt. and has the PNO filed. The motor is a fresh high performance dual carb 1910cc that has been tuned perfectly. It starts with the flick of the switch with the new 12 volt system and Hi-torque mini starter. The 4 speed was rebuilt. clutch replaced. and the shifter upgraded to the Jamar with reverse lockout. The new fuel system includes a rear mounted 12 gallon fuel cell with shutoff petcock. The suspension has been totally customized. The quick release steering wheel runs through a center mount Rack-N-Pinion box. New steering shafts. U Joints. bearings. HD longer tie rods. gusseted front spindles. oversized 6" front beam and Fox nitrogen shocks do the trick up front. Yellow Bilstein shocks hold it together in the rear. New brakes. seats. easy to use seatbelts. and a cage were installed for safety. The custom roll cage system was designed. welded. and installed to not only provide for maximum passenger safety. but to allow the beam and the engine to be removed if needed. The cage runs from the front beam to the rear bumpers and bolts together through the body. This buggy handles well on the highway or off road as is and can handle wider dirt/sand Trax type tires and paddles to play in the mud and sand. It has plenty of power to pass traffic on the freeway and massive power to go through the mud or up the dunes. It's the best of both worlds. Email me to set up a time to come take or look!
