1959 VW Sedan Deluxe Ragtop

The year 1959 gas was only 25 cents per gallon and Elvis Presley along with Frank Sinatra were making a classic bug like this the perfect car to cruise those summer nights with your gal. Roll up into a drive-in theater pull the top back and enjoy a refreshing pop while watching a good flick.

Fast forward 56 years…this car is in wonderful condition. After a recent (around 7 years ago) restoration mostly everything was put back to the day it rolled off the line with the exception of some tasteful necessary upgrades. Original color Kalahari Beige with brown grey/red brown interior. All new grey carpeting. With the body off restoration the underside was completely redone. A photo album of the entire process will come along with the car. The 1600 DP engine powering the wheels makes for a nice comfortable reliable cruiser. 5 tires and the matching painted wheels are all in excellent shape. All new rubber seals were installed and since it has been sitting in a garage for most of its new life still remain in perfect condition. The 12 volt system powers a 250 watt Alpine amp with 2 tastefully installed Alpine speakers along with a hidden Pioneer 12 disc cd changer. (Can’t seem to figure out getting the disc changer to work but the radio and speakers work great). The motor runs beautifully and the brakes stop the car nice and straight. Little bits of surface rust on the bumper risers and bumper chrome but the body of this bug is remarkably clean and solid. Jack points? Ready to be used as they should be!

Unfortunately it is time for me to let this beauty go. Have had a bus for a few years and have been putting all my time and effort into her with plenty to go to see her finished. I have the VW Birth Certificate for this ’59 Ragtop as well as documentation to include all the work done included with a folder full of receipts as well as the photo album I previously mentioned. You’re not only getting an outstandingly clean ragtop but you’re getting the back history of a very well cared for classic. I will greatly miss this car and will surely be hard pressed to ever replace her in the future but the Bus deserves its day and so the bug is being offered to its next loving caretaker.

I'm not a jerk so I will be reasonable about holdups with notice; however I can't care for the car beyond 3 weeks without making arrangements.
