The car skipped timing about a month ago. My mechanic replaced the belt and did a basic reset, ut the vehicle still sputters and smokes (white). This is to say it runs, ut does not drive well. This being the case, he auction is an AS IS deal with no warranty expressed or implied.
Ok, n to the good. In the last 1500 miles I've replaced, epaired or changed:
- 4 new glow plugs
- KYB shocks in the rear
- rear hatch piston
- front brakes + front and rear bleed
- fusebox
- intake
- horn
- fuel line
- oil change
- cargo area with fold down seat started
- speaker install flush with custom covers
- nifty shopping cart cargo basket
- rear bumper delete (bumper comes w/ car)
- backseat delete (seat comes w/ car)
- GT Grant racing wheel (original comes w/ car)
The previous owner installed a straight pipe and it's throaty. He also lowered the front end. The effect is sporty and responsive. This rabbit hugs the road already, ut will be even stickier when the sway bars are installed. I was averaging 35 mpg with current tuning. When the ignition is reset (which will need to be done), ou can get better mileage or keep the same power.
- The Fuzion Touring 195/60R14 tires on VW steelies have lots of tread left.
- In the mostly uncracked dash sits a Kenwood Mp3 + Aux input deck.
- All doors have their door cards and open/close/lock.
- Headliner in good shape (1 tear)
- All windows go down and up.
- Front seats are vintage Recaro.
- All lights, ncluding the interior dome, ork.
- Yakima rack with keys included.
- Front and rear sway bars (not installed) also included.
- Haynes, uir and Bentley manuals included.
Title is clean. Tags are good until October. Buyer is responsible for pick-up. Car will need to be towed or picked up at my location by a carrier. This auction is NO RESERVE.
