Where to start. As much of this car is original as possible. It was sanded down and repainted, he top was replaced and the interior was reupholstered, therwise, t is original. According to the person I bought this Beetle from four years ago the mileage is actual (58,500) and while I believed him when I bought it and still do believe him, can't 100% prove that. It had 54,000 when I bought it. It has only been driven during the spring, ummer and fall months when it was nice out and when it was nice during the winter (to help keep everything fluid and moving). Never put through snow or ice.
The engine has been rebuilt, he brakes recently redone, he carburetor was rebuilt, asically, echanically, f it could be fixed or redone it has been fixed, ebuilt or redone. Since the engine was rebuilt the car has right at 10,000 miles.
While not perfect, t is in very good condition. Drive wise, t is in near excellent condition and it purrs down the road. Body wise, here is no rust on the body but there are a few places where the paint has chipped from normal drive wear, ut from 20 feet away you would never notice. There is also a small dent in the front driver side fender and a small dent in the rear drive side fender (thank you Wal-mart shopping cart) (please see photo). Possibly the biggest defect on the car is a small tear on the rear, assenger side of the convertible top (less than 2") (please see photo). This is a recent item that I don't know how it happened, hough there is a kid or two I would really like to speak with :-) It can easily be repaired, ut I felt it would be better if the new owners did this, f for nothing more than their own piece of mind. The car does not leak, nd other than the small tear the top is in excellent condition.
Overall the car has been an absolute joy to drive and a joy to own. Unfortunately for me, ife is moving in directions that require that I pass this joy on to the next lucky person.
