Description

I am selling my daily driver, 993 Volvo 240 Wagon. This is the last of the last "real" Volvos using their bullet proof "Roadblock" B230 engine known to go over half a million miles with regular services. I had been looking for this exact car for almost 6 months when I found this one owned by a Jacksonville, L businessman. He had spared no expense in upkeep and maintenance on the car (see photos of service documents from this owner and the ones before him). The timing belt was changed at 150K and has been noted on the cover. Volvo had been slowly updating elements almost every year on this car and the 1993 model year is considered by any Volvo mechanic to be the absolute best and most reliable Volvo ever produced.

All options that were available for the 240 are included on this car including heated dual power mirrors, eated velour seats (no cheap cracking vinyl or leather on this car!), ruise control, et/cargo barrier, etractable luggage cover, riginal upholstered head restraint inserts, riginal upholstered front center armrest with cup holders, nd the "SE" trim package that included the chrome front grill and side moldings. It also comes with original carpet floor mats and a super RARE factory carpeted cargo mat, Volvo molded plastic utility mats, actory tachometer, nd factory dash clock (the last two I added). All factory night time illumination works. All check lights illuminate then extinguish promptly upon stating the car. A factory AM/FM cassette is included as well as the installed, pgraded Alpine AM/FM Cassette. The factory plastic roof rack was removed and mounting holes were filled with the correct IPD roof rack filler plugs. A factory original option "Volvo" labeled (Thule manufactured) roof rack is included with the car and is seen in the photos. All the door map pockets are Volvo original (not cheap, ismatched aftermarket ones) and have no cracks - a real rarity. The bumpers are factory-original and have a like-new satin shine to them and are deep black as they should be. 99% of the 240s you'll see online have silicone treated bumpers (looks like shiny greasy bumpers) covering their faded grey appearance but this car has always been garaged kept by me (and had to have been by the previous owners) as the bumpers are not faded at all and no silicone has ever been used on them - another real rarity! Most '93 240 Wagons were of the "Classic" variety that were either an ugly (in my opinion) "early 90's" Teal or Burgundy color. You'll be hard-pressed to find a gloss Black on Tan/Beige velour 1993 240!

All factory paint is original and shines beautifully and all glass is factory-original are are all weather seals. All Cibie lighting "Made in France" is also factory-original (no cheap Chinese aftermarket lenses on this car). The only issues with he esthetics are: there is a linear crack in the top of the RH side of the windshield in the tinted area that has not ever run and isn't very noticeable unless you look for it. The are a couple of door dings that I have photoed and a a few scratches and chips. There is also a slight gash/impression on the LH roof near the driver's door that was caused when I was removing the factory roof bars. There is slight discoloration where the factory roof rack bars on the roof were but my detailer said they will buff out - these are hard to photo but I've done my best. There are also a couple of small (less than a dime/quarter in size) paint etching spots where bird droppings/tree sap stayed too long on the paint. All Michelin Defender tires are the correct size/weight rating for the car and have less than 4K miles on them (85% tread remaining). All wipers are new including rear tear tailgate wiper that works perfectly! Non-smoker, o pets, o food or drink - still has that distinctive like new Volvo smell - if you've ever had a 240, ou'll know immediately when you sit in it. There is absolutely zero rust or corrosion anywhere on the car. I've taken photos of all the susceptible areas (like the tailgate edge), nd the door jams. This car is WAY more cosmetically and mechanically perfect than any other 240 I've seen on eBay or AutoTrader in a long, ong time.

This car drive/rides like a dream. All electronics work as they should, he transition shifts through all gears smoothly including kick down. The AC blows ICE COLD - the coldest AC I've ever had. The heater also works well but rarely gets used, owever it did this morning when we experienced a "freezing" 50 degrees! I have installed an IPD overdrive lockout kit so your O/D solenoid will never leave you stuck in 3rd gear (a common problem with these cars and one that plagued my last two Volvo 240s). All service has been entrusted to Rolf at Swedish Motors in Miami who is a veteran Volvo-only mechanic from Sweden - he actually worked for Volvo in Sweden before moving the the US and knows these cars extremely well and specialized in 240/740/940 maintenance and repairs. He was EXTREMELY impressed with this car when I bought it to him June. He did a thorough bumper-to-pumper exam of the car and found zero issues. He changed the oil and filter, leaned the flame trap and said it's good to go! You are welcome to call him or his associate, hase, o get an honest report about the car. You are also welcome to get your own mechanic to check the car in Miami (but Swedish Motors is the best!) and any mechanic who looks at and drives the car will tell you it needs absolutely nothing! If you know anything about Volvo (and European cars in general), t's best to pay a little more up front on a well-sorted, ell-maintained, ust-free car rather than buying one on the cheap and having thousands of dollars in headaches down the road.

I am a true Volvo/Saab enthusiast and have had 8 Volvo 240s, 40s, nd Saab 9-5s in the last 20 years. My parents are huge Volvo/Saab drivers too and my Mom's 1995 Volvo 940 Wagon - yes - I grew up in these cars - that she bought new in '95 has over 300K miles on it and the only item she's ever had to have replaced was the AC Compressor at 280K (her car has the same engine and transmission as this car)! Enthusiast owner means I did my homework when selecting this car and have made sure it is 100% reliable. I love the car but our new condo has limited parking so I'm having to list it now (along with my beloved '94 Jaguar XJS Coupe and my '69 Mercedes-Benz 220D sedan). I've taken many pictures this week of the car in various lighting to show you what a quality car it is. The car was just freshly hand clay barred, and polished, nd hand waxed using all Swissvax products this week by my professional detailer. You'd NEVER believe it is a 23 year old car! Enjoy the many high-res photos below that showcase the overall condition and quality of this great '93 240 wagon!

$500 immediate PayPal deposit required. full payment due with 7 days via bank wire transfer or certified check - funds must clear my account before I release the car and clean title for pickup or shipping. I am happy to help coordinate meeting your shipper or arrange for airport pickup (MIA or FLL) if you'd like to fly to sunny Miami and drive this car home. This car will drive coast-to-coast and back 20 times without letting you down. Just change the oil ever 3K miles, lean the flame trap and replace the air filer every 20K, nd replace the timing belt and spark plugs every 60K and it will go for many, any miles. Parts are plentiful and cheap and it's a very easy and basic car to maintain. AND it's got the legendary Volvo safety with ABS, rivers Airbag (SRS), nd Volvo's famous safety cage! Remember, his is the car the US DOT purchased 20 examples of to access and judge ALL other cars by in the US in the 70's and 80's! You won't be disappointed. Just take a look at the Guinness Book of World Records and you'll see many high-milage record holders being Volvo with this exact drivetrain!
